I was reading again about the death of Aravae in various sources, when I came across a mention of her being the Srinshee's apprentice. In EoE or was it FoM it states that Aravae was learning 10th level spells alongside Elminster, yet from what I can read at her death she was only a middling level Mage/Priest? How can this be??? This is my first post here so sorry if it in the wrong spot.

I found that in the Grand history of the realms:
146 DR : birth of Aravae
664 DR : Aravae and all of her personal guard are found dead under mysterious circumstances.
So she was 518 years old when she died. I believe it's a sufficient life-length to become a 10th level mage ! No ?
By the end of FoMD, few stats of Aravae are reported : LG gold ef C8/W9

Where did you find info about this midling level mage/priest !

Well it depends some on what is considered mid level, however the question I think was more about 10th level spells. Very few Clerics or Wizards of 10 class level can cast 10th level spells (A Chosen might be able to do it), of course study of 10th level spells does not mean they were learned. There is always the study of higher level spells then what can be cast.

"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

I think the spell Eledir spoke about is the spellshift. I saw in FoMD that Aravae could, as El', the Srinshee and Mythantor, cast this 10th level spell.
It is an exception.
