We know Ubtao to be a lord of the dinosaurs. We also know him as a god of feathered serpents. Its also heavily hinted that he is possibly Qotal (and the reason Qotal is gone from Maztica is that he's in Chult). Qotal is also linked with the original couatl, who knew him as "Jazirian Reborn", and those couatl were transformed Sarrukh. Other couatl also serve in Chult under Ubtao. Qotal himself is very much represented by butterfly symbology, which is often a symbol for transformation. It may also be that many of the Maztican dragons (who are feathered affairs) may also link back to this/these gods. All of this makes me wonder... at his core, is Qotal just a god of change? Essentially why I'm asking, should we consider the church of Jazirian Reborn/Qotal/Ubtao to be a major force in the studies of modification that the creator races pursued?

Along with these questions... timeline wise, might it fit that the death of Jazirian by Merrshaulk roughly corresponded to the timeframe of the Sundering by Ao into Abeir and Toril?

Also, Jazirian births Parrafaire upon Shekinester. Parrafaire is a god intent on secrets, mazes, and ensuring people gain wisdom. Sounds very much like both Qotal and Ubtao. Jazirian himself sounds very much like Kukul. This might make Maztica into Shekinester before and after she swallowed "Ssharstrune", which broke Shekinester into multiple aspects and the division of the naga race.

Alavairthae, may your skill prevail

Not to mention that in the newest Chult adventure, it is strongly suggested that the 9 trickster gods of Chult are merely aspects of Ubtao...though he had never been associated with those types of creatures before.

The Ubtao/Jazirian relationship would-could be plausible if Dendar the Night Serpent were a major follower of Asmosdeus and was actively ending a massive crystal sphere into Baator. Any plan to circumvent his old ally/frenemy from gaining too much power. Just as the serpent of lawful evil often uses whatever facade is available, so too must his adversary.

Discussions like this really make me wish there was a canonical GHotR like history book for a Realmsian prehistory. So much potential!
