Death's Embrace: The necropolis-city of the lich god Velsharoon is a parody of the cities of Faerun. Necropolitans and select living beings roam throughout the city's seven districts, and each district is presided by a greater undead or moderately powerful cleric. Death knights and skull lords patrol the city, keeping their lessers in line. The city's buildings are made of black basalt, and some of the most esoteric necromantic lore, spells and magical items can be found, commissioned or acquired here, assuming you have the coin and the spine to deal with the city's merchants. The odd arcanoloth can sometimes be seen debating the merits of this spell or that with a necromancer or lich; don't bother interrupting unless you're a spellslinger or like being condescended to.

The only splashes of colour in the whole place are the flickering lights of nearby Ebonspire and the city's windows, as well as the aptly named bloodroses. The bloodroses are a beautiful, if morbid, sight, although Velsharoon amuses himself by letting deathfangs live in the gardens. That's without mentioning the flesh golem gardeners.

Ebonspire: The eight-peaked tower called Ebonspire is Velsharoon's seat of power, and reaches under the undead city itself. A pair of flesh colossi guard the doors, and an avatar will sometimes be in attendance in the throne room. The power himself is usually in one of the laboratories or libraries beneath the tower, and day-to-day affairs are usually left up to the Necromancer's proxy, a tall, black-cloaked and black-robed human male called Norn the Tainted Master (Necromancer 13, Master Necromancer 10, Archmage 5).

Norn has the ability to manifest the special attack of any undead creature found in the Realms, and can additionally imbue negative energy into his magic as gifts from Velsharoon.

Endless Crypts: The crypts under the tower are vast, elaborate tombs patrolled by undead creatures. The necromantic laboratories and arcane treasuries here constantly update with every advancement of the dark art made in the Realms, and new forms of undead are studied and experimented with daily. Velsharoon's most powerful servitors dwell here, so it's best to try and keep a low profile. Death-by-lich is rather inconvenient in a place where you're more than likely to find yourself resurrected on some necromancer's autopsy table, and kept alive while you're "studied".

I'd recommend that he somewhere have his "tower terrible" that he was known for in Soorenar "copied" into his home plane.

Alavairthae, may your skill prevail

His senior Necrophants probably live there now.

The Ebonspire might actually also be the Tower Terrible, torn from Faerun and placed on the acidic frost of dead Mungoth upon Velsharoon's ascension.

Tower Terrible: The central tower of the Ebonspire, locally known as the Tower Terrible, was once the seat of the then-mortal Velsharoon's power on Faerun. When he ascended, the tower itself was consumed in blue-green flames before it reappeared on Mungoth.

The Tower Terrible exists coterminously on both Mungoth and in Dweomerheart on Eronia in Elysium, from which Velsharoon rules the district granted to him by Mystra. The district is much milder than Death's Embrace, and is filled with lesser undead, underpriests and lesser necromancers who have yet to prove their worth to the Lich-Lord.
