Hello all..I recently purchased a Clyde Caldwell direct from Clyde, the cover of The Wyvern's Spur novel: (http://www.clydecaldwell.com/large_images/wyverns_spur.html)

I really love that book and the characters, and had been eyeing it for almost a year, so after a successful Board Meeting I broke down. Now that I've caught the collector bug it has brought me a lot of joy, and I would like to get a few more pieces in 2013.

I've browsed Heritage Auctions and Ebay and most of the individual artist's websites, but if anyone has any pieces for sale or knows of a gallery/website/individual that has pieces for sale please send me a PM.

Moderators please feel free to move this to an appropriate forum! I wasn't sure where to post.

Seravin,

Speaking of 80s/90s Forgotten Realms art...

I went to New York Comic Con this year and, sitting tucked in among the vast number of tables in the artists room, was an artist whose work I vaguely recognized. I looked through a number of his works and it turns out he was one of the many artists used by TSR back in the day to do cover art for novels. He had several prints for sale on the spot, but I didn't realize they were originals as he was an older gentleman who didn't have an easy time hearing my questions (English also being his second language), so I merely admired them and moved on.

His name was Blas Gallego and his website is: http://www.blasgallego.com/illustration/. He has the covers from Realms of Magic (with a great Elminster/Khelben/Volo trio), Infamy, and Arcane for sale on the site and, of possible particular interest to you, the cover of Finder's Bane as well.

I hope that helps!

Good hunting.

Very cool Seravin. Did the painting come mounted or do you need to do that yourself?

Entreri - It's on board I just need to get a nice antique frame. I love the painting and I'm glad I pulled the trigger and bought it...but now I'm worried I will keep spending all my free money on art I loved in my childhood!

Kris thanks very much for the link!

Seravin,

You are quite welcome. He was such a kind and friendly older gentleman, and he seemed more than a little lost in a sea of comic book loving kiddies who'd never heard of his work (his booth was also small and tucked into a less than optimal spot). I was happy to chat him up for as long as I did about the stories behind his works and had I known he had originals with him I would have certainly been hard pressed not to make an impulse purchase!

Let me know if you end up with one of his pieces.
