I am looking for all major aerial battle between nations in the Forgotten Realms. Participants may have used, Skyships, Dragons, Floating cities, Brigade of Griffon Riders; or things along those lines.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I hadn't thought of Dragons as an actual race. So let's narrow to nations that may have incorporated Dragons, Skyships ect ect Thank you
Edit - For purpose of this scroll. Where either (or both) nation(s) committed a majority of its aerial forces to the battle would be major enough.
Example: If the just one of the floating Cities of Shade had attacked Waterdeep, and Waterdeep sent the majority of their Griffon Riders to the effort that would count.
Expanded to all aerial battles Refined to just nations

I suspect the answer is prehistory. We do know for a times Dragons were the dominant power, however I am not sure how Elves/hominids etc. managed to reduce their power. Killing eggs would be ground effort. Those with magic clearly could have had battles in the air. |

I'm thinking it would be entirely biological versus biological. Skyships and floating cities are "recent" innovations when it comes to the prospect of waging aerial warfare. Especially when compared to the battles waged between mighty dragons and other massive monsters through the skies of Faerūn in the millennia before the mortals races could even fathom the notion of aerial combat.

*Chuckles* Do not tell a black or red dragon they do not have a race. They might breath on you *wink*
Still not sure there is an answer for you, in part you ask for first "major" aerial battle. How many in the air to make battle major? |

Elven dragonriders versus a Rage of Dragons way back some time in the silver age of elves. Check Elaine's Evermeet for more details. |
Doggedly converting 3e back to what D&D should be... Sigh... And now 4e as well. |

The Haunted Lands trilogy details several air-to-air battles between the Griffon Legion and all manner of Szass Tam's creations, including a Dream Vestige.
