In a Stargate d20 game, I blew up a dinosaur . . . and got killed by a large hunk of it landing on me. I think the rest of my PC deaths have been pretty boring "took on a monster that it turns out I couldn't handle" things.
But, as DM, I killed my wife's character in the very first encounter in a game . . . by having someone hit her with a stick. I rolled VERY well. She was level 1, and her hit points were not so great. As it was a 1-on-1 game and I'd built the whole concept around her character, there was conveniently someone nearby to resurrect her. Otherwise, that would've been one of the shortest games of all time. |

Tselin Nyai my wizard was hiding under a fully functional palanquin with ten bearers, someone shot the bearers and the palanquin fell on him, one of the legs pinning his chest. The party trying to lift it off him multiple times ended up driving the stake through him. |

Our low-level, inexperienced D&D 3.5 party fought a juvenile green dragon in a forest. My barbarian got the bright idea to climb one of the trees and try to jump on the dragon's back when it flew by. He missed the jump, failed the jump roll for falling, and died from falling damage. SPLAT |

Party magic-user panicked when party entered an Underdark grotto with six beholder. He whipped out a point blank fireball before the antimagic rays could be fired. One detail: Those were all gas spores. If a party member was not in the fireball blast, he or she was still in range of at least two gas spore explosions

Now that I look back in the remote past.... I was turned to glass by The Mistmaster and then he followed up with a quickened Shatter spell, that broke me into pieces. I have since stolen that technique and it works almost 85% of the time if your a powerful enough arcane caster. |

Acolyte Einheriar,
Most laughable way I had a character die was falling down into a pit. It was so anti-climactic, but at the same time, just so perfect. lol I fell down and died. hahaha A 42 foot deep pit to boot! Apparently, it was the answer to life, and death. ;)
Best regards,

What would be the FR equivalent of Death by Vogon Poetry? I am trying to merge a banshee's wail with a paerilyon's belittle ability.

Senior Scribe Delnyn,
lol, I think you found it good sir! That is rather ingenious! I would seriously consider adding levels of Evangelist with some levels of Beguiler to round out that Paerilyon.

Not Delnyn, haha. My neighbor's 2nd level magic user poked a flumph. In anger, it fastened itself to the magic user's face and suffocated him.

Senior Scribe Delnyn,
That is the first, and I am sure, last, time I will ever hear of that form of death. The range of impressiveness that that death holds with it, is virtually endless! haha
