I have heard from a reliable source (the whispering in my head that tells me to eat pecan pie... and its always right), that the spellplague is actually an STD Elminster got by mating with a dragon who had previously been within the control of the goddess Shar. Elminster was protected by his chosen defenses, but he became a carrier. He of course then spread it to all of the seven sisters (even Quilue during a bout of jungle fever), and from there it spread to half the mages in Faerun. Of course, I know there will be naysayers.... but ask your own inner voice that speaks of pecan pie and hear the truth for yourself.

I'd hide any you've got left of that pecan pie if I were you, before the lawyers of a certain well-known game publishing company show up with injunctions on its further use by yourself. If ALL their secrets are as devastatingly and completely revealed as you have just done, there can be no hope and future for The Realms As We Know It. You know, I THOUGHT the last time I saw Elminster, he was . . . dragon. Just a bit. love, THO |

This seems rather strange. But who knows with pecans. Are you sure it was not a pelican you heard this from? |

Well, the brown pelican is the state bird of Louisiana... and Louisiana is full of liars (particularly politicians)...... it could have been a pelican disguised as the voice that speaks of pecan pie. |

That explains it, I don't speak pelican, so I would have missed that information. Now, had it been a diver or a sparrow I would be way ahead.
Why do I have a feeling that a moderator will come calling soon? |

nah, they'll laugh (hopefully <g>). If not, I'll confuse them by doing the Curly Shuffle while slapping my head and saying "wooo, wooo, wooo, wooo, wooo". |

Perhaps it was a swallow. |

Would that be Faerunian or Zakkharan? African or European?
"The voices in my head, tell me you love me..." later "The voices in my head tell me your love was just a lie... And you too must DIE!" --I'd credit it, but can't remember who sings it.

Do you have any idea how many bad jokes I have just come up with? Even The Hooded One would have a difficult time topping me here. |
