Hi all,

I have a bunch of questions. I asked Ed a year ago but he's a busy man, right ? So here there are for you :

1/ I was wandering how incantatrixes are seen by the church of Mystra ?

2/ Could an incantatrix be a High priestess of Mystra ?

3/ Could Mystra let a High priestess becoming a good-aligned lich that live "forever" in the depths of one of her temple ?

Thanks

They are more or less metamagic specialists. One of incantatrix organizations hunts Cult of the Dragon, and is named Sorority of the Silver Fire. The founders of which included a Rashemaar witches and a rumored daughter of Alustriel.
How much of a foregone conclusion do you think it is?

Why not? It's not like that church doesn't have more than its share of multiclass arcane MU.

A priestess would probably want to go to her deity.
Anyway, the question is "what for?" - archliches tend to have a specific "big" purpose.

To protect the treasures and artefacts of the deity that are stored in the temple ; she would forever be (as a archlich) the guardian of these treasures. This high prietress is also the founder of the temple (we are talking of the House of Wonders in Waterdeep).

Possible, but Mystra have many sorts of servants... and then there are wards and other inanimate measures.
Specifically Waterdeep isn't the place where a temple of Mystra is likely to be attacked with enough of force that they'll need a lich to hold until allies arrive. IMHO. Behind-the-scene observation, keeping tabs, counter-espionage management wth long memory and so on don't require a lich.
Either way, when a loyal worshipper of Azuth or Mystra volunteers to stick around as their "special servant", and deities think it's a good idea, usually they make one a Shadowstaff.

Incantatars/trixes are one of the most powerful prestige classes in the game. They'd be valued in ANY church.

Thanks TBeholder and LordofBones for your replies. Shadowstaff seems a good way to do what I wanna do.

Except from The Magister, do you know where I can find this "monster" ? I'm running a 3.5 version of D&D.
