I am no horror fan, but I read just about everything I get my grubby little hands on.

That being said, for those of you who are fantasy fans try The Throne of Bones by Brian McNaughton; you can't tell where the fantasy leaves off and the horror begins. I highly recommend it, especially for those who are not sure how they feel about horror (I sometimes feel people mistake craptastic movies for true horror, and they miss-out on some really great stuff).

As for the book, it has a bit of a Jack Vance Vibe, and you can't even tell if its some alternate (dark) fantasy world, or some sort of ultra-future where magic and science have simply blended together. Its really good stuff - but be warned, its not for the feint of heart. VERY adult themes being handled there.

In a strange way, it more like the classic Forgotten Realms - the stories are more about the people, and not the magic or monsters. Those are just backdrop for some truly excellent story-telling.

Excerpts are such teasing little taunts. Enough to set the mood, though. I dig it.

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, January 7th), Iím offering my sword and sorcery collection THE PLAGUE KNIGHT AND OTHER STORIES in a Kindle Countdown Deal!

On Tuesday at 8:00 AM PST, the book goes on sale for a paltry $.99.

On Wednesday at the same time, the price increases to $1.99.

On Thursday, it goes to $2.99.

On Friday, it returns to the normal $3.99. Which, IMHO, is still a good deal, but why pay that when you can get it cheaper?

You can find THE PLAGUE KNIGHT AND OTHERS here:

There are just a couple hours left to get my heroic fantasy collection THE PLAGUE KNIGHT AND OTHER STORIES for a mere $.99. At 8:00 AM PST, the Kindle Countdown sale price increases to $1.99. That's still a sweet deal compared to the regular price of $3.99, but not as sweet as $.99.

My new novella ACCURSED: THE FESTIVAL AT GLENELG is now available. This is the first piece of fiction set in the world of the new Accursed RPG and provides a good introduction to that universe. It's also a pretty nifty dark fantasy story if I do say so myself.

The Kickstarter for the Fall of Man RPG is now live.

Fall of Man will be a cool "post-apocalyptic Gothic-horror-fantasy" RPG. I'll be contributing a chapter to the core rulebook in the form of a novelette that will give the favor of the setting and also, I hope, be a kick-ass dark fantasy adventure.

Check out the Kickstarter here:
