I'd give one to Artemis, and perhaps Jarlaxle- though he'd probably take it the wrong way and..... yeah. Drizzy DEFINITELY needs one, and so does Elminster. I'd LOVE to hug Danilo, just because. And then take him out drinking- cause you know it'd be a hoot! Let's see, who else is on my hug list? Maybe Dahlia from Gauntlegrym- since you know her childhood kinda sucked. But I'd slap her afterwards, for killing the baby. What did IT ever do to her? It's the FATHER she should have killed....

Yeah, Danilo's fun.
For myself, as far as hugging Artemis... I think I'll let his... best buddy Jarlaxle do that, because a vampiric dagger to the spine isn't my idea of a good time. But Jarlaxle would get away with it. One way or another.

I'd also put my vote in for Artemis Entreri... the guy was abused by his father, molested as a boy, and sold into slavery to a pedophile!

Just thinking about that either makes me want to cry (especially the molestation part) and/or hear "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. playing in my head.

I would also give Pharaun Mizzrym a hug. He lost the only drow he called "friend." Friendship among drow is an alien, abstract thing. Right when he more or less grasped the idea of a "friend," he lost Ryld. Plus it's quite difficult to deal with a mistress [Questhel Baenre] who thought nothing of him except as a discardable implement.

Every beginning has an end.

Plus life on the streets of Calimport, struggling to survive there.
Anyone who's read the Artemis short story 'The Third Level' will have seen that bit of his life.
There's a rather sad bit in it where he sees some kids playing catch with a pebble, laughing and having fun, and realises they're close to his own age. And the realisation actually causes him pain, for a moment.

Mirt's a successful loan-shark and smuggler, think about what that means. Samas is just repulsively grotesque in both appearance and manner, not to mention also a dangerous scheming evil Zulkir.

I have little doubt that there's no shortage of hugs available to similar characters in our world, say fellows like Al Capone and Ron Jeremy.

Lol thanks! Now when reading the last 40 pages of Unholy i will picture Ron Jeremy as Samas Kul casting spells. Gross

Also, now thinking of it I think Mrelder, the kid from City of Splendors, who for some reason reminds me of Gareth from the Sovereign Stone trilogy would have done far better with a big hug...

I'd like to add Dorn Greybrook to the hug list. He REALLY needs one! Though with a dragon for a paramour, that might lead to some rather dangerous jealousy.....

*sighs, and tears start rolling down his cheeks* How sad.

But yeah, I've come from a background myself where my own father was seriously physically and emotionally abused himself, so I see something like that (of my father) in Artemis, and it just seriously brings tears to my eyes (like it is at the moment)... That, and so many of my friends (and my girlfriend) come from broken families.

Given how much she loved the obese zulkir, I bet she'd say something like, "Oh, Samas, dear, you better transmute your fats to air so they could dissipate and then I could hug you properly."
