Hello All
Reading through the timeline for the fall of Myth Drannor in the year 668 it states that wizards began to be abducted by Halister the Mad Mage of the Undermountain. I searched the forums and found a discussion about the events connected with the Naturalists or I guess wizards from the Hall of the Guild of Naturalists. Can someone clarify what connection the Guild had with Halister? Is there more information out there about the Guild itself or of the Guild Hall? Did any part of the Guild Hall survive the fall of the city?

I'm going from memory, but I think this was explained in The Fall of Myth Drannor module.
The Hall of the Guild of Naturalists is described and mapped in the 1987 Forgotten Realms Campaign Set; it's discussed and located in Myth Drannor in The Ruins of Myth Drannor, and also mentioned in Cormanthyr and featured in The Fall of Myth Drannor. |

That particular adventure is really one of my favorites! Dalor Darden, in an adventure before he became a Shade went on that adventure...and I have to say nearly died there.
Good memory. |

Ah, Phezult's sleep of the ages ... good times, good times.
Where was Halaster himself (and his past) described in detail? FR4: The Magister? |

I only wish that I had discovered that Lashan of Scardale was imprisoned right beneath my feet! That would have given me some leverage if I had been able to recover him from that particular ruin! |

There's never been a full detailing, though his entry in Villains' Lorebook provides a brief take on his history.
Really, the best way to piece together Halaster's past is by stringing together all the scattered references in the Realmslore -- which mostly involves the various Waterdeep sources, Undermountain sets, the associated adventure modules, Ed and Steven Schend's compiled replies here at Candlekeep, "A Slow Day in Skullport" [originally from Realms of the Underdark and reprinted in Best of Ed Greenwood], and in Silverfall. |

He's on the Villain's Lorebook, as the Sage noted, and I think there is something about him in the Stardock adventure of the Undermountain Dungeon Crawl modules. |

There was also a tidbit about him regarding a magic item he crafted in Dragons of Faerun.
