Ho there, and Well Met, Scribe of the 'Keep!
I have traveled far in search of knowledge, good saer, and beseech you!
'Dost thou knowest of the lineage of Tanathagor, moon elves of the High Forest? Do scrolls within these hallowed halls contain this lore?
My thanks, good scribe. 'Till swords meet!

Well met, Erdrick ... apparently the grave marker was talking about a different Erdrick.
I am not familiar with the name Tanathagor. Have ye perhaps misrembered or misspelled it? Where is it from?
Here are the wiki articles for Elves and the High Forest, as well as a brief History of the High Forest. Are your "Tanathagor" in fact any of the elvenkind named therein? |

Aha, Scribe Arik! I did indeed mispeak! The road to Candlekeep is long, indeed!
I seek lore regarding the Moon elf line of Tanagathor!
(Fore who would care about those rakes and rastabouts amongst the Tanathagors!)

Google offers some bits of scattered lore on this subject (some written in languages I cannot decipher) - including this brief writing from the REALMS-L archives and this tale from the (non-canon) Myth-Weavers forums; several other libraries from the ether record "Tanagathor" translates into the elven surname "Moonweather".
Tanagathor is mentioned in these scrolls within Candlekeep: Aerasumé (which quotes a passage from Lore from the Sages - Pre-2005 found in the Traveler's Notebooks section of Alaundo's Library), Questions for Steven Schend [Page 53], Questions for Ed Greenwood (2004) [Page 9], Questions for Ed Greenwood (2008) [Page 45], and Questions for Ed Greenwood (2009) [Page 48].
Tanagathor is also listed in the Elven Names collected in another of the Traveler's Notebooks within Alaundo's Library.
I've instructed Candlekeep's search genie to highlight the relevant keywords within these links so that you may find your lore about Tanagathor within their lengthy pages with less tedious perusal (of course, the search genie is not particularly bright and unable to access any links to Alaundo's Library). I don't know anything more about Tanagathor than what is already written within these pages. |

By the Reborn Lady, what a mystery!
Well, then, scribes... Dost any among ye know where Moon Elves in the High Forest congress? May'haps 'tis lore extant which tells of the High-born amongst them, and where they in their high-houses dwell? |
