Presented for your entertainment, the lyrics to several songs I have written that are set in the Realms. Many of these appear in my Realms net novel Flowers in the Wind

Thank you. Some of them can be heard actually, if you have the patience to download 3 MB MP3 files (or at least a fast connection). Where All Shadows Play & I'll Follow were each incorporated into my Dusk campaign setting, although they were originally written with the Realms in mind. They are at

At the last GC I met with Ed Greenwood and was able to sing to him "May Sune Return Me" and "The Leafturning." I had asked him if the music I had wrote for the latter was in line with his intentions for the song (It appears in Spellfire) He said yes. I promised at that time to have a CD ready for him come next GC, and collecting together all my Realms songs is a first step to that process. |

hmmm.....never liked bards or songs very much, but I did play a bard-blade kit once, he was pretty cool, ok, not really, but does anyone know any Drow songs, or any Elf songs at least?

Note: to be honest, great drizzt, (and why shouldn't I?) I always disliked long songs and poems in books, still skip them while reading LOTR. Still.. a bard can't do without them and it helps me to personalise the character's background.
Hmm, I could have used those horizontal lines in this post ...

I'm glad these were found to be entertaining. Here are a few more.
"Flowers in the Wind"
(Sonnet contained in the novel, engraved upon the funerary urn of Archmage Graniteheart).
Arching through the sky, flying all the while
Teasing grace and ease, float amoungst the trees.
Flow into my mind, in my heart to find
Pain sorrow and woe, tears easing the flow
Flowers in the wind waving to and fro
Where should I begin, where should I now go.
Tragically we fly from whence began our flow,
May I someday lie in peace within the world.

Cormyrean Ballad.
Azoun IV was known to hate this song quite a bit, to the point of banning it from performance at court - this despite it being one of the more popular ballads in the kingdom. Those close to the king while he lived believed that the reason had more to do with the memories the song evoked for him than the song itself.

A drinking song, probably orginiating from Baldur's Gate
Most of the songs I've posted have been serious or tragic in nature. This song is neither.
Bonnie Lee was a cavalier and a handsome man was he
He rode a horse that was snow white with long mane flowing free
He was bold and reckless as they come on this side of the sea
But one day his white horse came home, but never home came he.
Bonnie Lee had heard a tale of gold, a dragon far away
And so he set off to slay it upon a cloudless day
He came upon the cavern and there stood awhile to see
One day his great horse came home, but never home came he.
Carefully he stepped beyond the threshhold of that cave of gloom
He scoffed at the feeling in his heart that he was facing doom
And deeply he delved into the cavern where the dragon should be
One day his great white horse came home, but never home came he.
Bonnie Lee looked about in the cavern when suddenly it forked
He did not know which way to go and this could ruin his sport,
So he took the largest passageway that his eyes could see

The dragon soon arrived outside and knew something wasn't right
The place had that distinctive smell of all too arrogant knight
The horse caught sight of the dragon, then bolted away free
One day the scarred white horse came home, but never home came he.
Bonnie Lee was pondering which way in the cavern he should pass
When the dragon came up behind and then fired up his ass
And when the smoke had cleared there wasn't much of Bonnie Lee
His horse did come back home that day, but never home came he!!

first congrats, these are very good lyrics, you have very good composing skills.
second, i`d like to ask permission to use these lyrics for songs me and my band are currently making. i can`t really define our style, it`s a very sad gothic; perhaps the one song that is able to give an impression is one called 'at the dawn i wept' by a band entitled silentium.
with your permission, i`ll post the links at this forum as soon as we record these songs, we intend to include them on our first demo. i, personally, especially enjoyed 'i`ll follow', 'listen child', 'tomorrow mother' and 'flowers in the wind'.

I don't remember very well, in July i guess, but u should take ur place now, by internet or something, cause there are not a lot and above all in Indianapolis, where i think there will be twice times more people.
I regret not to be able to go there, the last was so great. I think every player should go at least one time over there.
[Elmore is also a cool guy who loves Tolkiens poems ]

This is all very great work. I'm impressed.
I do have one question however. Does anyone have any good Dwarven battle chants?. The reason I ask is, I've exhausted all the Dwarven chants for battle I can find throughout the books, and I just thought somebody might have something that I can use.
