Tends an apple grove, mostly for cider, and keeps bees, cows and pigs. Has a large paddock which he rents for the night to passing caravans; enclosed by a low wall of tumblestone and thorn-briar, patrolled by his three bow-wielding sons (Llamdarr, Llamstul, and Llamaunt) and Belamel "All-Black," a fierce, short-haired, bristly mastiff as darkly monochrome (aside from icy blue eyes and lolling pink tongue) as his appellation suggests.

Belamel "All-Black" may secretly be a cross-breed between Torilian born mastiff and shadow mastiff. It seems that Lamren Long-stride familial name comes from a family secret. There is nearby a portal to the shadowfell, and they have learned to use it to shadow walk long distances and their bodies have become infused over the generations such that they can perform shadow jumps over short distances multiple times per day. This portal is also known to the druids of the Dusk Circle of Kryptgarden forest, who direct loggers from the towns of Kheldell and Red Larch away from the area. The shadowfell portal is also rumored to be the source of sinister nature perversions known as blights, who seemingly arrive through the portal (the other side of which opens onto a similar shadowfell forest inhabited by a small civilization of Gloura and shadar-kai ruled by a gloura arcane hierophant known as the Glourannessi married to a shadar kai known Shadarking )

Well, this post will put a pin (at the moment) in the "U's." First letter down!
(second, technically, but the "X's" only ever had one entry [a published one at that!], so I'm not inclined to count them)

==================================================

Uarda
The Silence of A Thousand Nights. Legendary priestess of Shar and assassin. The House of A Thousand Silences in Calimport was founded in her honor. Eventually murdered and schemed her way into position as the wife of the Shoon emperor Sarqandor the Squat. Ruled behind the throne in his name for the twenty years of his reign, which would have been but a fraction of that without her shrewdness and ruthlessness. Acquired and wore the artifact known as The Coil of Splendid Colors and its' sister device, The Coil of Unthreaded Colors, and profited from it greatly.

Uladrūne the Bold
Dwarven sellsword. Florid, excitable. Excessively talkative, given to wild gesticulations and knee-slapping (or back-slapping, or arm-punching, if there is another nearby). Recently returned to the city after a long campaign of fighting in the foothills of eastern Amn, and is spending her coins freely in tankard houses and festhalls as a result.

Ulaemble Coppercoin (NG GM)
Proprietor of The Six Blue Lamps, a Castle Ward tankard house of some popularity with the Watch (not the Guard, though). The specialty of the house is Amphael's Codpiece, a rather harsh firethroat concotion named after a local civilar of the Watch.

Uldryn Suraedos
Native of Tethyr. Adherent of Lathander Morninglord. Found slain in Hammer 1369DR, crumpled in a doorway off Hunter's Alley. His assailant is widely believed to have been the mysterious "killer-of-faiths" known as the Godstalker.

Uletheira Abravvan
The fabled "Light of the Lower Wards." A long-ago priestess of Ilmater whose tending to the suffering and ill of the city's poorer neighborhoods made her a legend in her own time. Her missives eventually brought her into conflict with certain wealthy and secretive power groups, which led directly to her untimely death in a hail of flaming crossbow bolts. Her visage is still popular on small good-luck charms and adornments sold by street hawkers, and many in the city include her in their prayers to Ilmater.

Ulguth Ilvastarr II
Patriarch of noble House Ilvastarr. A secret devotee of Gargauth. Founded the House of Hidden Watchfulness, the largest of the Tenth Lord's cells in the city, and currently controls its' activities through several layers of intermediaries. Has done business with the Xanathar and other underground power networks in the past. [ Source: "Dungeon of the Crypt," Eric L. Boyd, Dungeon Magazine #127, p.72. Name/Description given. Additional detail by me. ]

Ulzor-Omsur, The Nine-Headed Dragon
The Wyrm of Waukeen, which dropped nine different dung, which were all precious stones in their own right (ruby, sapphire, emerald, aquamarine, topaz, opal, jasmal, jacinth, diamond; nine hundred and ninety-nine of which were used to decorate the The Gem-Bedighted Throne of Lathander, among other relics and puissant items). Said to have been raised by Waukeen on a diet of white-silver and galeb duhr. Legends say that, as penance for his theft of the holy relic later known as The Warp and Weft of Ioun, the hero Alarakh of Serta was sentenced to an eternity of cleaning the muck and collecting the stones of the Dragon's den, where he was subjected to daily fomentations of scalding oils and scorching fires, and that, after his death, he ascended as one of the Shining, Waukeen's heavenly servitors.

Love the idea of the follower of Ilmater who was slaughtered by flaming crossbow bolts. Perhaps she dressed simply in white robes with a simple red sash of cloth. She may have been an inspiration for Durnan in the creation of the red sashes? Maybe she protected him or his family as a child. Maybe the use of specially prepared charms of "the light of the lower ward" are a common means for the red sashes to contact one another, or maybe they're used like the coins of the faceless men of Game of Thrones lore (i.e. you can turn one in for help as proof that you are a friendly to the red sashes)

On the dragon... interesting idea. Change the goose that laid the gold egg into the dragon that shat the crystal dung. Might be interesting if you changed this to be all the different gem dragon types (amethyst, crystal (quartz? diamond?), emerald, sapphire, topaz, jacinth, jade, moonstone, obsidian <note there were also amber and pearl, but those are "gems" that are created by a strange means>). I say that because the mid/south west area of Faerun Waukeen is primarily worshipped has ties to psionics and gem dragons (Jhaamdath, the god of psionics, psionic yuan-ti, a gem dragon that ruled westgate, and theories here that possibly the human knowledge of psionics in Jhaamdath may have had something to do with yuan-ti or gem dragons. Or maybe these gem types have something to do with ioun stone types?

Sleyvas, these are excellent ideas, and I am stealing both of them.

With a pinch of Hercules' Fifth Labor tossed in, to boot.

Changing the gem types to match the gem dragons is an intriguing idea. Originally I just went down a list and wrote out a handful of the most valuable types but, again, I like the Realmslore tie-in you've come up with!

The Lady's Fortunate Fellows
An adventuring company formed of younger sons of noble houses. Currently led by the swordsman Cord Wavesilver (CG HM Aris3/F2). Their roster fluctuates with the passing seasons, but usually includes the socialite Ballandan Bambrusk, the mage Elthon Hawkwinter, and the swordsman Durmal Silmerhelve (LN HM Aris4/F2).

Laenar Osprail
A young noble of the Nesher family, once under investigation by the Watch for his involvement with the smuggling ring headed by Pharastul Greycloak. Laenar was killed in the Thirsty Sailor tavern, alongside his companion, the thief Elek Ilstryn, by the angry mage Kordeerlar "Krakenhand."

Laeruldra Hawkwinter
A noble of House Hawkwinter (grand-niece of Lord Eremos). Florid face and hard grey eyes. Wasp-tongued, sullen. Married to Harlammand "The Bold" Burlestar.

Laethorna "The Softness of Sharp Teeth"
The Singer of World Without End. The old woman who sits at the knobby foot of the Falathorn, that ancient holm-oak of evergreen foliage under whose mighty span grows the root of long living (truffles, a useful component in potions of longevity), who sings of the scent of flowers and of the songs of birds, and who makes there her crown of withered birch leaves. The monstrous denizens of the Wood of Sharp Teeth leave her in peace, and some of the more civilized ones even come, for a time, to the sward-under-tree, to sit and listen to her song. She is often said to be avatar or favored of Eldath, but the elves there known her as something older.

Laraekh Var
The Rakespur. A Waterdhavian warcaptain. Master horseman. Fought against the orcs of the Black Horde.

Laspara Moonstar
A noble of House Moonstar (wife of Haradel Moonstar). Light-hearted and of gentle nature. Suffers from a severe inferiority complex, largely the result of her husband's constant browbeating. Has a beautiful singing voice, and many have compared her favorably to the great cantatrices of Berdusk and Silverymoon. She has three children; Brorim, Tavvan and Roaela.

Elsūnedrah of the Deft Hands (CG ½EF T/P of Sūne)
Slender, sloe-eyed, shoulder-length black hair. Quick-tongued, merry, hedonistic. Quite practiced at appearing ingenuous. A senior temple-maiden of the House of Beauty. Commands a group of some twenty faithful skilled in the arts of scented oils and body massages. Her (self-given) sobriquet is a sly wink to her previous life as a rather successful member of the Deft Hands thieves guild of Neverwinter. When not in religious obeisance at the House, loves to ride her mount, Tommor, a sleek dappled iron-grey courser, at breakneck speeds through The Meadows east of the city.

Elthon "Nine-Fingers" Hawkwinter (LN HM Aris2/Trans6)
A young noble of House Hawkwinter. Tall, youthful looking. Hawk-nosed and oft-unshaven, with piercing green eyes and wavy black hair. Serious and authoritative (haughty, most say), but occasionally given to fits of whimsy. Speaks somewhat condescendingly to others, especially those not schooled in the use of the Art. He is enthralled by any display of the transmutative arts and has recently taken a great interest in the art of cookery, convinced that unlocking the secrets of such mundane transformation will yield great results in the realm of the magical (this also explains his recently-expanding waistline). Has taken a familiar, the energetic and adventurous young tom, Tamyrtail. Often appears unarmed, but is known to carry both a ring of spell storing and a wand of viscid globs. Tutored in the Art by the Calishite arch-transmuter Ahnzemblost. Carries a blood grudge against the Dragonmage Maaril (who is whispered to be responsible for the maiming of Elthon's right hand). A titled noble of the extra-planar realm of Wasthraglim of the Many Towers, and a former member of both the Lady's Fortunate Fellows and the Knights Errant.

Tamyrtail
Familiar of the mage Elthon "Nine-Fingers" Hawkwinter. An energetic and adventurous young tom. Has a passion for the insides of boots and helms and satchels, the more worn and travelled the better. If asked, claims he can smell the stories of far-off lands and adventures in their depths. Also contends that if he were a human, his waul would be more masterful than even the greatest master bards. When told that most all cats claim such, he avers that his voice is better than all of theirs as well. Prefers grilled eel over any other proffered meats. Of course, he hasn't tried dragon yet and he suspects he may like that even better. Met a tressym once. Has ever-since dismissively referred to them as "poncy flying rats." May secretly be jealous of their wings and yearn for a pair of his own.

Elzroon Ever-Tongue
The Splendiference of Soporific Garrulity (as he is called by absolutely no-one at all). Earns coin as a dream-singer (or hypnagogue, as they are known in the lands around the southern Inner Sea), a bard specializing in soothing and sleep-inducing song and spell. The newest highcoin fad has such agents plying their trade to gatherings of nobles to induce collective dream and sleep, often after a dance or dinner. Why anyone would pay handsomely for such services is unknown, but so it goes for many such highcoin fads. Takes pride in his craft, but would prefer harping to appreciative audiences in the courts of Berdusk or Silverymoon rather than to snoring old noble gluttons sprawled on their divans.

Emal Darduiyn (N HM)
An overweight, balding, heavily-freckled, wheezing native of Tethyr. Proprietor of The Hung Beholder, a crowded little taxidermy shop on Gut Alley that offers everything from menacing snow bears, mountain cats and baby bulettes, to winged bloodhawks, stirges and other creatures of all varieties. The presence for which the shop is named, a young eye tyrant of rather small size, hangs above the counter, tattered and in sad shape. Emal is more than happy to relate a fanciful tale (or two) of the beholder's death to interested patrons, but will become quite angry if any off-color innuendos about the establishment's name are made.

Okay, this caught my attention... I don't recognize the name of this extra-planar realm. Is this something I've overlooked, or homebrew?

Homebrew. Picture 1920's Manhattan, but with crossbow and spell instead of guns and technology, and a lot of scheming merchant houses and underworld families squeezing out the old-money noble houses (one of which Elthon and his compatriots worked for and then ended up taking over/buying out in the end). I was heavy into Robert Aspirin's Myth Adventures series at the time (Deva and Perv were big inspirations), but if I went back to it these days, I'd borrow liberally from the Eberron setting instead.

Melipar of Amphail
Author of "The Feast of Faralgus," an epic lay about the fall of Ascalhorn. It is rarely performed today, but the famous line "He was a noble proud and great / The very things that sealed his fate" is still widely quoted to refer to the powerful and the foolish.

Melsk's Marauders
Northern mercenary company of smallish size and smallish repute. More commonly (or derisively) known as "Red-Leggers," taken from the company crest, a triangle formed of three bent crimson legs-and-feet. Captained by Melsk the Grim, a bitter, tight-lipped, stubble-jowled pessimist. When on campaign or outside city environs, Melsk is invariably accompanied by Tarblack, a great dark shaggy wolfhound of similarly sour temperament.

Mélubar the Exact
(MAY-loo-bar) Stolid, well-mannered, precise. Holds the office of Master of Dress (formally Solemn Master of Dress, Vestments and Other Religious Panoply; informally 'Woad-Wizard') at the Mystran House of Wonder. Azure, cerulean, sapphire, Mystra's woad; all holy shades of the faith of the Mother of Mysteries. The office of "woad-wizard" concerns itself with the proper vestments and attire for the priests of the House of Wonder, in all their divers ceremonies and activities, along with specialized costumery for holy-days and outside garment requests from faithful wishing to coordinate their attendance at the various temple functions. Maintains warm ties with The Most Excellent Order of Weavers and Dyers, as well as the Nature shrines and the southern dye-merchants of Calimshan, Tharsult and the verges of far Chult, from whom such cloths and colorings are obtained.

The Men of the Black Hammer Banner
One of the city's longer-lived "blade fellowships." The current members of the Banner are informally led by the ranger Brand Wolfshand. Other members include the warrior Gorthaun Helmshorn, the bard Sklaegund, and the Tempusan priest Relduthil. The standard the group takes their name from, a black warhammer on a silver field under two silver clusters of fireballs on a black field, was once the personal crest of the fallen dwarven adventurer Durgeld Oresklar, "The Black Hammer of Clanggeddin." The Black Hammer-Men are currently plotting an expedition to the Nether Mountains, to that place of ruined stone and death-filled shadows known as The Tower 'Twixt the Mountains and the Stars. Prospective hirelings are directed to inquire of Gorthaun, at The Ill-Met Sorceress, Dock Ward.

The Men of the Rampant Griffon
One of the city's "blade-fellowships." Led by the warrior Morgeld (CN HM F8), a stout, tall old Ruathymaar with a salt-and-pepper beard, piercing blue eyes and a huge bastard sword strapped to his back. The Rampant Griffon are rarely found in Waterdeep nowadays, as they have laid claim to the formerly orc-held ruin called Wolf's Crag, off the High Road amidst the Red Rocks north of the city.

Boon Hurllaboon
Proprietor of The Whip And The Wand, a Castle Ward festhall (west-side Warrior's Way, north of Palfrey Lane) popular with young "small-spells" magelings and the apprentices of the Watchful Order. Pleasant, round-faced, buxom (not the form or face he was born with, but the one he feels most comfortable with, and spent much gold on enchantments to achieve). Quite proud of the Wand's extensive array of scented oils offered for both bath and massage.

Brand Wolfshand (LN HM F2/T3)
A member of the Men of the Black Hammer Banner, one of the city's itinerant "blade fellowships." A big, hard man, with a grave manner and eyebrows that meet between his eyes. Currently recovering from wounds suffered in a skirmish with Zhentilar armsmen in the High Nairae pass of the Nether Mountains.

Brasshide (NE DM T/Exp)
Neither his real name nor surname. Dwarven lock-maker and trapsmith. Specializes in a variety of clever multi-key locks and small spring-loaded blade traps. Has a small shop in South Ward, on Coachlamp Lane.

The Brightbolds (The Company of the Bright Sun and the Bold Moon and All the Unfettered Winds of the North)
"All manner of amazements for those fond of curious entertainments, for those who do not suffer from fear of the fantastical and are not afraid of strange beast nor man." Travelling entertainers and performance artists, well-known in the more civilized regions of the North and even up into the Savage Frontier around Silverymoon.
Attractions include Aldred of Tuern, with his quartet of performing seals; Faeragus the Headless Man (self-decapitation, followed by comedic keep-away routine with his two hin attendants); Osklur and Grizzlemaw (owlbear wrestling); Hezmereldra and her "Tressym Theater"; Cabinet of Curiosities (a variety of strange orcish idols and eerie Abyssal knick-knacks); shadowbox and puppet-theaters; and booths for darts, hammer and ring-toss, arm-wrestling, stone-sledge, cup-and-ball and various other games of chance. Presided over by Thelandru "The Master of Merry Disports" (fat, fork-bearded, usually laughing; supplements his own vanishing hair with longer, vividly-dyed locks made from horse-tail).

Buldath of the Coppers
A reputed smuggler and notorious Dock Ward ne'er-do-well. Lieutenant of the Xanathar thieves guild (in charge of running the beholder's southern Dock Ward interests) and leader of the Cod Lane Coppers, a Dock Ward fellowship of cutpurses and alleyblades. He was killed by his fellow thieves in Hammer of 1372DR after having been captured and interrogated by the Watch.

Wooly, explaining it would ruin the whole experience. "The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything." (did you not see The Prestige? )

Sleyvas, tell your penanggalan, don't forget a scarf! (the trailing innards tend to seriously gross the audience out )

Elegul Another (CG HM P9 of Tymora)
The Elder Fortune of the Goddess. Elegul is quick to laugh, his attitude quite spritelike, and even reckless. He enjoys many a joke (and a dare, even more), holds no grudges, nor does he work to single-minded aims. He is a true servant of Tymora, and shuns both money and material possessions ("To rely on the magic of items is to turn from embracing the Luck of the Lady, and coins are better spent by the church than by oneself"). Currently the mentor of the adventuring priest Jorynn Halstaff. [ Source: Ruins of Undermountain - Campaign Guide to Undermountain, p.105. Name/Description/Stats given. Additional detail by me. ]

Elek Ilstryn
A suspected sneak-thief and confidance man, thrice convicted in Lord's Court of false dealings. Killed in the Thirsty Sailor tavern, along with his companion Laenar Osprail, by the mage Kordeerlar "Krakenhand."

Elenia Ambelra
[½ef, b.1121/d.1178]. Born to a daughter of House Harpshield and a noble of the former moon elven realm of Ardeep (House Andrilūnae Banners-of-High-Battle). Married Hormuk Moonstar in 1162DR. Brought with her a dowry of The Cinnamon-Stone of Esgaldra (variously rumored to be elven kiira or powerful crystal ball or perhaps sentient king's tear). Died to a necklace of strangulation in 1178DR. Two children - Elendan and Drameira.

Elhfendara (N were-tigerF T8/Sor12)
(El-FENN-darra[dar as in 'dark']) Leader of The Seven In Silver, a company of were-tigress adventurers active in the southern Realms. Her only (known) visit to Waterdeep was a noteworthy one, occurring in conjunction with an intensive manhunt for the wayward Crown Princess of Cormyr. Elhfendara was mistaken for the young Alusair Obarskyr by a deep-in-their-cups gathering of Cormyrean caravan guards at the Munificent Bells. The resulting spell-and-sword battle destroyed the multi-story Castle Ward festhall and was immortalized in song as The Night of Furried Fury by the bard Ammathan Var.

Ellandra of the Shrouds (N HF Nec13)
The Starseer's Second, The Maker of Flesh. A short, pale woman. Thin yellow hair, hazel eyes highlited by long gold lashes. Wears her nails unusually long, favors long-sleeved robes cut in the exotic southern style of Calimshan (dyed in mourning colors, hence her primary appellation). Conceals her heavily fire-burned and scarred face under magical graft flesh spells. Carries herself with the hauteur of a true aristocrat. Ellandra is an accomplished chiurgen and bone-mender, but she only practices these skills on the living to show off or to endear herself to potential allies. Her husband, a famous sea captain and privateer, died off the Nelanther Isles more than five years ago. His body was never recovered, and Ellandra now labors exhaustively at her research, secretly trying to find a way to bring her husband back from the dead. In her grief and single-minded obsession, she has allowed herself to come under the sway of the Mystran Magister Meleghost (who values her for her discoveries in the Dark Art), and her close friend and erstwhile confidante Yolavhra (who feeds off of her pain and despair). Despite her quirks and mood swings, Ellandra is more sad and tragic than cold-heartedly evil. If she were to discover how her mentor and her companion are using her, she would become furious and seek to destroy them both. [ Source: DMGR7 The Complete Book of Necromancers, p.117. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I picture any pennaggolan (which I find it interesting, different editions different spellings) that "reveals" themselves in a show as possibly having a "really small" bag of holding that it ties at the base of its neck. Now, some might say "that won't work, you're either all in or you're not", but hey, its a game. I picture it also increasing its armor class simply by making it smaller (say size diminutive), but it would lose its entrail attacks. Such a creature would be more concerned with using its domination abilities than clubbing people with their entrails.

Suldaphar Dren
Proprietor of the Satyr Run Red, a tavern in Sea Ward that burned under mysterious circumstances (since rebuilt and reopened as the Three Maiden's Laughter). Has three daughters, Entha, Durleene, and Jelith, who serve as tapmaidens and serving wenches.

Suldermoon "The Moonlight Imbiber"
Masked and mysterious food-courser. Flashing eyes, great baritone laugh, blue-dyed, spade-shaped beard. Great jowls and greater belly. An infamous flatterer (but not lover) of the ladies. Writes a fawning, flowery column for The New Waterdhavian broadsheet, breathlessly detailing the exotics and delicacies served up at the tables of Waterdeep's rising "new monies." Maintains a great mutual rivalry with fellow gossip-gourmand Quellakh, "The Sage of Sharp-Flavors."

Sullaraloun the Most Magnificent (N HM Illu)
A Sea Ward hire-spell, courtier, and connoisseur of all luxuries. As pompous and overbearing as his (self-given) epithet suggests. His specialty in the Art consists of elaborate linked series of illusions designed to awe the senses (audio and olfactory, as well as sight and touch), often in conjunction with musical and culinary delights. In high demand among the wealthier and more jaded elements of noble society.

Sulgreive "One-Eyed" (LN HM)
Captain of the Grey Gull, a caravel of the Dezlentyr fleet. Short and swarthy. Black hair touched with grey at the temples. Wears an embossed leather eyepatch and several golden rings in each ear. Bears numerous tattoos on his hands and forearms, of stars and birds and stylized waves. Married to Hendelara (LG HF), a quiet, good-hearted woman of Turami descent.

Sulphon
A noted wisebeard (sage) of Waterdeep. His last two tomes, one on cryohydras and the other a treatise on the mating habits of remorhaz, were well-recieved by the learned community of the North, and led to Sulphon being awarded the Golden Quill, a high honor from the Vault of Sages in Silverymoon. He can be contacted at his domicile, the third door on Gothal Street off Calamastyr Lane. [ Source: "The Ecology of the Basilisk," Ed Greenwood, Dragon Magazine #81, p.27. Name/Occupation given. Bhellabbas Marshaum
A factor (trade agent) of House Ilvastarr. Short-legged, portly. Dark-complexioned. Wears a variety of golden, fancifully-curled wigs. Small, intense black eyes. Hates to lose or be bested at a deal. Handles much of Ilvastarr dealings in the buying and selling of magical and esoteric items. Well-known at noble revels and Watchful Order auctions alike. Full of flowery, fawning speeches and insincere laughter. A man of absurdly florid descriptions; everything is "exquisitely sensational," "most excellent," "devilishly delighful," "utterly magnificent," or "superior to even the gods."

Bilraen "Madwands"
An operative of the Rundeen mercantile cabal. A tall man with a brown beard and a slight stoop. Dramatic, self-absorbed, tempermental. Sadistic sense of humor.

Bittershanks (CN HM T)
Tethyrian cutpurse. Short, thin, nervous. Bristly blonde hair, squinted green eyes. Pauses in odd and random moments, mid-sentence. Forms a rather dangerous back-street duo with the Dock Ward thug (and occasional agent of the Mystran priest Meleghost) Ahaervus the Scarred.

Bjorloomn of the Thunders
A chieftan of the Sky Pony Uthgardt tribe. Believed to have been buried in the Redfields, the cleared area east of the city plateau where many of the Trollwar dead were interred in mass graves. His mount (also his lover), the were-pegasus Annathlué "Battle-Blooded," survived the war and was later the forebear of the ranger Selūndrae and the highcoin girl Belūndrae Brost.

Blakadiou Crommor (CN HM Aris/B)
Black Cad. Heir to noble House Crommor. Has an exceedingly deep and clear singing voice. Angered by the smallest slight or percieved offense, and well-known to the magisters as an avid partaker in unsanctioned "honor duels." A frequent sight in the tankard houses of the Upper Wards, accompanied by the Ale-Hounds, a mixed group of sycophants, aspiring bardlings, duelists and other would-be bravos. The were-pegasus Annathlué "Battle-Blooded" was said to have contracted her "lyncanthropy" during an encounter in the Star Mounts of the High Forest when she came upon a small herd of Pegasi and their several foals that were being entrapped by hobgoblin warriors. They had been forced into a mountain cavern and were being prepared for being transferred to cages for transport. Annathlué used her wiles to trick the hobgoblins into traps of her own and freed the pegasi. Upon being set free, it was said that one of the pegasi mare's eye suddenly turned a cerulean blue and a twisted ethereal horn appeared upon her head. When this horn touched Annathlué she was suddenly transformed into a pegasi and given a vision of Bjorloomn of the Thunders, Chieftain of the Sky Pony tribe. It is thought that this was a manifestation of Lurue presenting through the pegasi as a conduit for her power.

Rumors that Bjorloomn freed Annathlué from the form of a pegasi with a kiss have been spread down through the years. Amongst the Sky Pony shamans, stories of the two are the stuff of myths to be told to star crossed young females. Its believed that Annathlué became a druidess of Lurue, and after Bjorloomn died, she returned to the star mounts to live amongst the pegasi and asperii. Occasionally young warriors of the tribe (both male and female) are said to make a spirit journey to the star mounts and seek a mate, for its also said that Annathlué had children amongst the pegasi who possessed the ability to transform into human form.

Can't say I envisioned Bjorloom as a Disney 'kiss-the-princess' casting . I bet that does good business with the romance chapbook-sellers in Waterdeep and Silverymoon, though ("The mighty Uth warrior Bjorloom of the Thunders has never met the obstacle he couldn't overcome – or the woman who could resist him. And it's not going to happen now, not with his star shining more brightly than ever and chieftanship of the clan within his grasp. But things aren't always what they seem. And even stars sometimes fall....in love.") Read it now, only two copper a copy!

Also, now you have to explain how he gained his "of the Thunders" epithet.

Quellakh "The Sage of Sharp-Flavors"
(QUELL-ack) Noted connoisseur and acerbic critic of fine food and drink. Currently enjoying a bit of noteriety among the nobility, and has gained access to their feasts and fźtes as a result. Writes for The Sword of the City broadsheet. Maintains a great mutual rivalry with fellow gossip-gourmand Suldermoon "The Moonlight Imbiber."

Quelvarhn Gullwink (CN GM Illu3/P2 of Baravar Cloakshadow)
(QUELL-varn) The Inciter-of-Dwarves. Craggy-faced, short and square with thinning red hair. Humorous, vain. Full of insults, limericks, and nervous energy. Has two apprentices, the gnomes Barabar (CG GM T1/Illu1) and Wellswode (N GM Illu1). Friends with the gnomes Havershont and Gnossos Valmar.

The Quiet Hands
A trio of independent "factors" (hire-hands) for highcoin and noble clients (Castle Ward, third floor offices at the sign of the pursed lips, Lamp Street. "Guaranteed to fortify, corroborate, and console.") The Hands provide a variety of services – some legal, some not-so-much – couched in the vaguest of terms ("Skeleton removals. Every respectable family has one – sometimes two! Hidden in closets, locked in cupboards, carefully stowed in bureau drawers with lavender and fine Sembian lace. An end to whispers and grandfather's shame. Discrete and reliable!"). The trio consists of the hedge-mage Jebbo Knockspell (sharp-tongued, fussy and flamboyant), the Luskar swordsman Ambran Sulacar (ruddy-faced and overweight, mainly due to too much drinking), and Joylūnna, daughter of the deceased courtesan Joyliira (swift, efficient, fearless. Long, ash-blonde hair and wears an abundance of rings and bracelets), who handles much of the client interactions and has quietly become head of the operation.

The Quiet Shadows
Local thieving fellowship. Recently founded, seem to concentrate on Castle Ward storefronts and merchant domiciles. Take their name from the line in the play The Tradesman's Delight, "Shadows lie quiet, when thieves make merry."

Qurulghest One-Eye (CN ½OM War4)
(QUARREL-guest) Leader of the Goblin-Growlers, a Dock Ward street gang of minor importance. The Growlers recently ran afoul of a trio of Harper operatives and lost several of their number as a result.

Yeah, doesn't HAVE to be true, but if Annathlué is a favored of Lurue as I'm kind of hinting, then she "feels" a little focused towards love. However, it might be better to spin this story a little differently than the Disney concept. For instance, maybe Bjorloomn KNEW Annathlué to be a were-pegasi already. Maybe even he was already in love with her. Maybe some priest of Malar captured her and placed a spell upon her entrapping her in pegasi form, and in that form she cannot use her spellcasting at present. Maybe he had intended some nefarious purpose for her, such as hunting down the rest of the pegasi in the star mounts, using her as bait. But then Lurue appears to Bjorloomn and grants him the ability to free her from her curse with a kiss powered by love. Given the Uthgardt distrust of magic, the idea that this "evil controlling magic" is being destroyed by a kiss seems like a good story for them. Without this gift of Lurue, they might have been forced to kill Annathlué to free her, and thus have to kill a being who is the symbol of their tribe (a "sky pony"). Hmmm, in fact, it might be interesting if they actually receive this power not from Lurue, but maybe Uthgar himself, at their ancestral mound, when they go there seeking help to free Annathlué.

Oh, and on the concept of Sky Pony barbarians looking for mates amongst the pegasi of the star mounts, perhaps these were-pegasi are VERY barbaric, having grown up in the wilds. So, they see this infusion of new blood as "getting back to their roots". Perhaps these children are more likely to possess shamanic/druidic powers as well.

As to where Bjorloomn got the epithet "of the Thunders", well that's yet another story of these two. It seems that Bjorloomn and Annathlue' had to defend the Elk tribe from a powerful vampiric elder wyrm white dragon who was a blackguard devoted to Auril. They prayed to Tempus for his aid, and a vision of a golden-haired barbarian woman in red leather armor with horn studs, a rune engraved sword made of a carven moose antler, and carrying a shield made of entwined deer antlers appeared. The woman was mounted astride a great red-furred caribou with an enormous rack of antlers. The woman, who called herself "Sifya the War Mother", but whom northern scholars interpret as a manifestation of the red knight, told Bjorloomn and Annathlué that they would need to find a temple of Talos that had been desecrated and retrieve the "Echo of Thunder". This sent the pair on a quest alongside the barbarian chieftain of the Elk Tribe and his daughter, a paladin-mage of Valkur from Ruathym, a paladin of Tyr from Elturel and the priest of Helm who worked at his side, a arctic dwarven druidess of Ulutiu/Pindalpau-pau from the great glacier and her future dwarven warrior husband from Sundabar, and a half-gold elven mage-priest of Lathander raised by his mother in the High Forest whose father had been of the Sky Pony tribe. This quest led them across the ocean to the west to a fabled land known as Anchorome to find a temple of a one-eyed sky god known as "Thoros", wherein they found the "Echo of Thunder", which was a powerful greataxe with an axe head on one side and a hammer head on the other. Though the weapon was heavy, it could be hurled as a throwing axe and would return to its master, releasing lightning and evoking thunder upon slamming into its target. Exactly what happened on this quest varies by the teller, but it is said that the follower of Valkur retrieved the "Echo of Thunder" soon after grafting the arm of a runic guardian golem upon his left shoulder. It is said that all the quest followers were "touched by Thunder" in one form or another. This manifested itself in the form of great runic tattoos appearing on their bodies of ravens, wolves, bears, or rams. Bjorloomn himself was said to have tattoos of rams appearing on his forearms, and it was said that after this he possessed the ability to release a force not unlike a "ring of the ram" infused with lightning effects as well. He also took to wearing a helm with twisting rams horns mounted upon them for the rest of his days.

Of the vampiric white dragon, it is said that the group were able to send it back into the northern realm of Hoarfaern, and that this group temporarily united many disparate factions of the north. In particular the paladin-mage of Valkur and the chieftain's daughter of the Elk tribe were said to have fallen in love, and she left her tribe to take up residence in Ruathym. Their children and the children of Bjorloomn and Annathlué were also said to have been raised with much contact between them, and these children of heroes were said to go on to become heroes themselves in the next generation.

Wonderful as always, Sleyvas. I love the amount of detail you put into it (and I recognize some of the names from your other threads here at the 'keep).

==================================================

Monk Helmshigh (CG HaM F2/P2 of Tymora)
A member of the Shields of Snail Street adventuring fellowship. His parents, Belmonk and Halea, are the proprietors of Helmshigh Winter Traders, a seasonal outfit which utilizes teams of sled-dogs to move packages between the snowed-in reaches of the Dessarin valley, as far north as Red Larch.

Mukluk "The Merciless" (LE OM F/Bar)
An orc mercenary of unusual strength and battle-lust. Well-known in the deep ways of Undermountain. Wears a ceremonial eyepatch embroidered with the crimson sigil of his dark god. Along with his companions Shargaz and Urglet, one of the three Black Hands of Gruumsh.

Munzparl the White-Whiskered (LG HM Exp9)
The Master Minter. Munzparl and his cohorts are responsible for stamping the coinage of the city of Waterdeep, everything from common copper nibs to the uniquely Waterdhavian taol, all cast from giant molds in the depths of Castle Waterdeep. He is also an avid collector of ancient coinage, and his agents can be found in the Yawning Portal and the various markets of the city, seeking adventurers and outlanders who might possess such currencies.

Muraskos Klathrond
Author of Blentuls, Balargasts and Fanfroons: A Compendium of Fanciful Things (1242DR). Died during the Warrior's Plague of 1245DR.

Murzambrul
Old Red-Top, The Flame of Marpenoth. A great treant of the Ardeep, similar in form to a red maple. In the autumn months, his rounded oval crown turned a deep red, almost burgundy color. Once per year in the spring, repaid a debt of unknown nature to the god Eldath by allowing the druids of the The Blue House to tap his bark in religious ceremony, the sap from within collected to form several potions and ointments of the faith. He was lost in 1363DR, attempting to quell the worst of the raging inferno set off by territorial battle between Lhammaruntosz "Claws of the Coast" and the rampaging red wyrmling Stornthauthra "The Smouldering Splendor." A sunny grove seeded with his progeny (one or more of which may one day heed the beckonings of the forest) is still tended and guarded by the Eldathyn.

Thank you. I loved writing it as well. BTW, if you happen to read the marvel comics (which I've pursued much more of these last ten years), you will note that my "Thoros" gave homage to it by having him having an arm replacement of "cold-forged black iron". I was intrigued to see the latest war of the realms installment in which he hangs himself from Yggdrassil and gives an eye for wisdom (something my Thoros also did), and that he's now the all-father. This matches up to the choices I chose for my version of Thoros (which I did the eye thing to create literal confusion about his involvement OR not with Talos). Granted, its not amazingly original, since its what Odin did, but I secretly kind of laughed to myself at the thought that my "Metahel" pantheon COULD possibly be the Marvel Pantheon. Granted Sif is a lot different as are many of the other gods.

But back to the topic at hand... So, I just created several additional NPC's to fill out that story. When I get a chance, I may create some history for the following just for fun.

Paladin-Mage of Valkur from Ruathym who retrieves the weapon known as "Echo of Thunder"

Chieftain of the Elk Tribe
Chieftain's Daughter of the Elk Tribe who marries the Paladin-Mage and goes to Ruathym

Female arctic dwarf shaman of Pindaulpau-pau (reindeer version of Ulutiu) and her shield dwarf husband from Citadel Sundabar.... who move off to create a new dwarven kingdom in the frozen lands?

Paladin of Tyr from Elturel and his priest of helm "squire". How'd they get involved with these ruffians? What discoveries did they make in Anchorome?

Half-elf mage-priest of Lathander (born of a sky pony barbarian father and a gold elf of the High Forest)... should find a good high forest community with gold elves for him to come from. Maybe he's even the half-brother of Bjorloomn, as they may share the same father. Since the half-elf is from the High Forest, this may also be how Bjorloomn met Annathlue was via visiting his half-brother.

The most common thing made from his sap were simple confections to which sap was added. This "roll" was said to provide enormous energy with very little weight, a single confection being able to sustain an individual for an entire day. Some batches were further blessed with minor healing properties or even the ability to cure minor illnesses such as colds, rashes, etc.... These confections came to be called Murzambrul Biscuits, or just "Murzambruls" for short. Bottles of his syrup were often traded to other communities of Eldathites and Chaunteans to research other uses for it. To this day, regular maple syrup is used in similar recipes and similar confections of a non-magical nature carry the name "Murzambruls" as a result.

Ilmagarr (NE TieflingM Sor/T/assassin)
Believed to be spawned from the demon-lord Nuurn the Innominable. Has stiff, bristling black hair and sideburns and an upside-down grin which, when amused, splits to reveal formidable ivory fangs and a long black lolling tongue, like that of a mastiff. Well-read and erudite, sadistic and short-tempered. An assassin and courier of the Xanathar. He wears a cloak whose darkened depths do not seem to respect the generally agreed-upon laws of time and space (powers including those similar to the spell blink and the item bag of holding) and he uses it to ferry rare goods and items between Skullport and the city above.

Ilsig Stormtemper (CN HF F/Sor)
A well-known sword-she of Uthgardt descent. Famed for her tavern brawls, and for her willingness to sign on with any adventuring party as long as the promised reward is big enough. There are persistent rumors that she was the inspiration for the naming of The Ill-Met Sorceress, a notorious tankard house in lower Dock Ward (these rumors are true, and she is also a part-owner). Dark of hair and eyes, and even darker of temper when provoked. She is said to be stronger than most men (STR 18/56), and known to carry both a spike-headed flail and multiple beads of force. Rides the great black warhorse, Valdahgrim.

Irlthornra the Gorgon-Head
Author of Farings Into Time and Space: Sights to See Under the Eaves of The Blue Alley, Some Even As Must Belong To Another World; Common Rooms, Halls, Bridges and Staircases; Their Colloquial Names and Manifestations; Theories On Their Marvellous Undertakings of Construction; Notes On Choosing the Correct Path For Safe Egress (1353DR, includes a quite lengthy catalogue of the more infamous [and stable] landmarks within the planar dimensions of the Alley, as follows; The Chimerical Corridor; The Cabinet of Masks; The Deadly Osier-Craft Room; The Arms-Under-Stairs; The Dark Circle Stage; The Flood of Red and The White Palings; The Place of Spaces [through which one enters the legendary Netherese safehold of The Place Between Places]; The Always-Orc Room; The Four Lionesses [Who Spout Water and Nonsense]; The Temple of The Sun; The Ever-Lasting Memorial [To The Mountains In Distant Parts of the World]; The Innumerable Markings; The Stair of Strange Forms; The Stair That Ebbs And Flows [As the Tides]; The Nave of the Lunarettes; and The Door On The Left [which leads down into the weeping chambers of The Four Sarcophagi]).

Ilvir Blackdravvan (LG HM Aris6)
The newly-appointed envoy (ambassador) of the Confederacy of the Silver Marches. Lean and balding, magnificent steel-grey beard. Stands slightly stooped, has long, fine fingers and piercing black eyes. His family made their fortunes in logging the forests of the North, and he prominently displays the Blackdravven crest (an upright pinecone over crossed axe and saw) on his tabards, personal furnishings, jewelry (including a custom-enchanted necklace of clairaudience), and overlarge signet ring. Enjoys puzzles and games of strategy, has no particular love of Mirabarans or Harpers.

Ilvryn Lackpurse
Bustle-Boots. Hin thief. His nickname was given to him for a youthful incident that he would rather everyone just forget. Once thin and wiry, now heavy-set and broad-bellied. Still retains a youthful face set with large bright eyes that glance around rapidly, never settling for long on anything.

Beiljabahr el Vallh (LG HM urban ranger4)
Bail the Stout. An orsar (envoy to guilds, citizen groups, noble families; also serves as prisoner escorts and in honor guards) of the Watch. Assigned to the growing hin community centered around Snail Street. Stands hardly over five feet in height. Close-cropped black hair and beard. Grey eyes, dusky skin accented by various whitish scar marks. Favors copious amounts of zzar and Black Basilisk chew weed from the Purple Hills of Tethyr.

Belhaera of Silvanus
Wood-Walker, Snow-Strider. Priestess of Silvanus, long-famed in the North. It is said of old that Belhaera met a giant of a man in the forest, who carried a magnificent shimmering fur cloak over one arm; he was thoughtful and measured in conversation, and wise in the ways of the woods, and when the night came he threw his magnificent cloak over his massive shoulders and disappeared there into the darkened depths, for he was in truth a were-creature walking in the skin of a man, perhaps one of the oldest of his kind. It was from this odd companion that Belhaera gained the curious moss-covered stones which are sacred to Silvanus, those same stones that now form the base of the holy altar at the House of Peat and Pine, that ancient temple which sits in the deep twilight and the great silences north-east of Sundabar.

Belūndrae Brost
"The Bells of Bliss Street." A very successful high-coin girl of Waterdeep. A were-pegasus (a female human or half-elf who can change into a pegasus of white, dun, or blue hue. Aside from these hide colourations, a werepegasus looks like a 'normal' pegasus save that its eyes glow a "star-white" hue in darkness and their pupil colour otherwise matches that of their human shape. They have 'normal' pegasi abilities and stats. This is an inherited bloodline shapechange power, not lycanthropy; no one can be 'infected' by it) like her mother, the ranger Selūndrae. An adherent of Eldath. She uses the wooded solitude of The Quiet Place to perform her shapechangings. [ Note: Were-pegasi information given in a 04/01/05 posting to the Candlekeep.com message boards by Ed Greenwood. ]

Belzandan Morinshin (N HaM T/Sor)
Halfling cozener, trickster, swindler. Merry, reckless, agile. Often poses as either Ophar Blackbuckle, "hair-coiffer and nail-curer to the royal families of far Luiren," or as Thesbert Estlyn, "learned sage of markings and ornamentations of the highest nature" (royal and noble seals and signets).

Bendym Winterswink
Proprietor of Winterswink Fine Craftings ("Chests and puncheons, kegs and flasks; Goblets, chalices, firkins and casks. All sort of winding horns, cups and other vessels of horn here bought and sold. Articles required for eating and drinking, as well as vessels for the preservation of liquids and powders"), Snail Street, Trades Ward. Has a small community shrine to Arvoreen in the basement of his Snail Street home. Father of the young Hin adept Jaster Winterwink.

I take this to mean you want to hear about 5 NPC's your character would meet, were you to join my Waterdeep campaign, so here are five NPC's that almost every player character will meet:

Soren
LN Saurial (Hornhead) W16

This Saurial Wizard owns a magic supply store, called Soren's Magicke Emporium. He actually owns the whole building, but rents out the top two floors. Because Saurials are unable to speak in the Common sense, Soren uses an Amulet of Audible Glamer, with which he speaks very slowly, as it takes much concentration to make the amulet form the sounds of Human speech. His memory stick is never far out of hand.

Soren's shop has a small showroom, full of stationary and books. Behind the counter, there are thousands of spell components, sorted into tiny drawers, stacked all the way to the 12' high ceiling. He has only a few magic items for sale, many of them displayed under his glassteel counter top. Several nearby alchemists keep him supplied with a few common potions, which he sells for cheap.

Sooner or later, every spellcaster comes to Soren's shop for components, as he has a reputation for high quality and meticulous preservation of every component. He also buys monster remains from adventurers, but only if they are fresh.

Riva Thunderstaff
NG Human P18 (Heartwarder) (former W15)

This young noblewoman mastered the art of Wizardry as a child, only to decide, once she entered puberty, that what she really wanted was to be a Priestess of Sune. She entered seminary school at the House of Beauty and became a Heartwarder. Since then, she has become the most powerful caster in the temple, having a full inventory of both Wizard and Priest spells, and works as the temple enchanter. If you do quests for the House of Beauty, you will eventually receive a magic item enchanted by Riva Thunderstaff as a reward.

Riva is also well traveled about Waterdeep. She can be encountered nearly anywhere. Players have danced with her in taverns, haggled with her in the Marketplace, bid against her at the auction house, traded spells in the other temples, drawn and painted pictures of her, sold her their loot, and most importantly, come to her for the more difficult healing tasks (and to restock their healing scrolls.) She is also a major quest-giver for the temple, mostly sending PC's to find various magic items and components of interest to her.

Riva is now in her 20's, but still looks like a teenager. She has long, reddish-blonde hair and lots of freckles. Think of Xena's sidekick, Gabrielle, but with a true redhead's complexion and no sense of body shame. She's also very willing to get along with anyone, even her enemies.

Humpeldink Burbeldurk (HUMP-l-dink BURB-l-dirk)
CG Svirfneblin T8

This tiny, blue Gnome can sometimes be seen running through the streets, but only on a bad day. On a good day, you'll never see him swipe your things. He's very fast, for his size, and he has several magic items to boost his thieving ability, including Slippers of Speed, a Wand of Telekinesis and a Hat of Holding. He always has a scroll tube full of Illusion scrolls, which he has somehow learned how to read.

Dinky, as my players have been calling him, can be hired on as an adventuring companion. If you do hire him, triple-count the loot.

Ynea Lathankin (ee-NAY-uh Lath-AN-kin)
CG Human W16 (Transmuter)

Ynea's surname means that she was raised by the clergy of Lathander. In fact, much of her early childhood was spent in the Spires of Morning, learning how to work and polish glass. She was far too chaotic to fit in, but had a talent for glass blowing and stained-glass art.

Although she is officially the apprentice of Xulcandra Tanislove, Ynea has kept up the pretense, for several years, that her mistress is still alive. She has been running the enchanting business by herself. Many player characters believe they have Xulcandra magic items, when they were actually enchanted by Ynea. One thing you can be certain is really an Ynea item is anything made of Glassteel. Ynea added Glassteel to the enchanting catalog, herself. She is also the creator of the stained glass window over Xulcandra's front door, which seems to be a depiction of a Paladin turning a wight, but is really a Stained Glass Golem with a glassteel Sword of Sharpness.

Ynea's deception of the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors runs even deeper. She has a Letter of Proxy, which allows her to attend board meetings of the guild and vote on Xulcandra's behalf. She is careful to abstain from any quick votes, saying she her mistress has not had the opportunity to instruct her how to vote. Ynea has actually had a strong influence on the policies of the guild.

Over time, Ynea has manipulated the legal circumstances surrounding her apprenticeship, altering a guild rule here and a influencing a Waterdhavian regulation there, until she is just months away from her Big Reveal, when she will claim squatter's rights over Xulcandra's tower, personal property, business and more. When the truth is revealed, the guild won't even be able to expel her for her deception. She's taken care of almost every possible technicality. The only thing left for her to arrange is one more change in the guild rules, to allow her to claim an automatic promotion to Journeyman.

Of course, all that is a complete mystery to the players. All they know is, if you want your sword to be enchanted by Xulcandra Tanislove, you have to talk to her apprentice, Ynea. Lady Xulcandra is always "out on another adventure."

Barney Bigfoot
NG Halfling F3

This Halfling merchant can be found just about anywhere in or near Waterdeep. He trades in beers and wines. He tours the farms and wineries of the Sword Coast, buying cases of choice products and reselling them to taverns up and down the coast, from Baldur's Gate to Amphail. He has all the vintages that the seabound traders miss.

Barney hauls all this stuff in a large wagon, drawn by a single draft horse. Sometimes, his wagon is so heavily laden, his horse can barely move it. His solution is to plod along to the next tavern and sell off some of his stock.

Every once in a while, and at least once per campaign, Barney has wagon trouble. When he busts a wheel, his horse goes lame or he runs into some other setback, he has a roadside fire sale. This is the time for the PC's to score some of the good stuff, at bargain prices. Although, truth be told, he's still not taking a loss on any of it.

Disintegration is in the eye of the Beholder.

So many things on this one...

demon-lord Nuurn the Innominable
so the demon-lord Nuurn who is unable to be named... interesting.... so, when asked Imagarr actually goes into fits TRYING to name who his father is (literal fits that are almost like epilepsy, complete with foaming at the mouth). Some people believe this to be a berserk rage, not realizing that it is in fact a curse upon the child to never be able to say his father's name. He actually took up sorcery with a focus on illusion in hopes that he can find his father by SHOWING people who he seeks rather than SAYING who he seeks.

Ilsig Stormtemper - love her. She's actually a great granddaughter of the paladin-mage of Valkur and the chieftain's daughter of the Elk Tribe who recovered "the Echo of Thunder" from Anchorome. Her "black" warhorse "Valdahgrim" is actually an asperii whose fur has been died to hide its true nature from those who would steal it. Ilsig has an affinity for lightning and storms and can often be found riding the currents above Waterdeep. Its said that she also wields a bow that can produce arrows of ice or lightning, or it can fire specially prepared arrows that hold a bead of force in its arrowhead.

The author of the book on extradimensional spaces.. lots of possibilities there... that just looks fun.

Oh, and the Blackdravven family crest... I've never thought of a saw in a crest, but I like the idea. I'm picturing a two-man saw. Given my interest in heraldry, this just opened up a lot of interesting ideas to me.

Wonderful.

Belhaera of Silvanus
Its thought by some that the giant of a man that Belhaera met was in fact a powerful being of ice and snow whose name is Ulutiu wearing a skin which allowed him to take humanoid form. Others say it was simply a Voadkyn druid (worshipping variously Ulutiu, Othea, or Hiatea depending on the speaker). The moss covered stones that she was given are believed to be stones "born" of Othea, or rather a "petrified afterbirth" from the birth of the Voadkyn race (a race birthed from the union of Ulutiu and Othea). The Voadkyn (or "wood giants") are in particular to be found amongst Silvanus' temple known as "the House of Peat and Pine", and it is unclear just how many of the humans, wood elves, and half-elves in the surrounding area are in fact disguised Voadkyn. There are even those who whisper that Belhaera herself is a wood giant posing in human form, and the "House of Peat and Pine" is known to also have small shrines dedicated to Ulutiu, Othea, Hiatea, and Rillifane Rallathil which are visited by not just the giants, but also the humans, elves, elf-kin, and dwarves of the area.

Belūndrae Brost
A blue-haired half-moon elf born of the union of a moon elf of the Ardeep Forest, Bellondarr Brost, and a were-pegasi of the Sky Pony tribe,(the ranger Selūndrae), Belundrae was raised in the High Forest near the Star Mounts. Its rumored that at a young age Belūndrae was kidnapped by a crazed Karsite Binder who intended to take the young child to the city of Karse for the purposes of some vile magical ritual employing her blood. Selūndrae and Bellondarr chased the insane ritualist to the edges of the unicorn run river where they cornered him. The Karsite, in an attempt to save his own hide, tossed the child into the river, but it is said that the goddess Eldath herself appeared from the waters and caught the child.

As a high-coin lass, Belūndrae is often assumed to be nothing more than a highly paid prostitute, however, in truth Belūndrae is highly selective in whom she serves as escort and never resorts to base tactics to make her patrons satisfied. In particular, she is known to occasionally escort young nobles who show intellect, compassion towards their lessers, and who are "picked on" by their fellow nobles for their "effeminate" nature. In this role, she has been known to use her own blue pegasi form to allow these individuals to arrive "in style", though only if she can trust the individual to keep her "personal secret".
