Considering that they're still making 5E material, that further indicates it's doing well.
Besides, we're not talking about business practices. This tangent was over whether or not D&D had been destroyed, which it clearly has not been. |

Which confirms that what we knew as Star Wars is indeed dead. Its new owners did not bury it, they place the corpse in different poses and take selfies with it, but... it's dead.

That's something. But is this because 5e really perform well, or because Pathfinder grew stale (or rotten, or turned into schizophrenic haystack worse than AD&D2 in its last years, or all of the above)? Because "better than D&D 4" is damning with faint praise.
Also, which improvements happened in 5? Fixes for some of the bad parts of 3.x "backported" from Castles&Crusades and other 3rd party branches? |
