Even now, I'll question a lot of WotC's decisions, but I don't go for the all-out "WotC is evil!" or "Everything WotC touches turns to crap!" routine that some others do. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I go with the WOTC effectively destroyed D&D for money shortly after they managed to effectively destroyed MTG for money.

Last time I checked, D&D was still around and doing well. This rather much argues against the point of it being destroyed.

Depends on how you look at it.

Music is still around but I'm afraid it's a far cry from the quality it used to be.

“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisioned by the enemy, don't we consider it his duty to escape?. . .If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!”

Opinion and sales are not the same thing. You may not like something, but if it's moving a lot of units and making a nice profit for the owners, then it's doing well.

I've no interest in the 5E ruleset, myself, but from what I've read, it's put D&D back on top of the RPG ruleset -- a position they'd lost to Pathfinder, during the 4E era. And they're continuing to put out new stuff... So, other than your opinion of it's worth, all factual indicators are that it's doing well.

You are forgetting however the rules of business. Something may be making a profit and doing well (even beating all it's competitors), but if ut doesnt meet the expectations the company set itself (even if they were unrealistically high) then it could still be considered a failing product and ultimately withdrawn. Business is daft more often than not

Considering that they're still making 5E material, that further indicates it's doing well.

Besides, we're not talking about business practices. This tangent was over whether or not D&D had been destroyed, which it clearly has not been.

Any chance of a Print on Demand (physical copy) release of Border Kingdoms?
