Boyd remade him in 3.5 Under Illefarn anew. I think he's a ranger/ wildrunner or something cool like that. A tenth level Wildrunner becomes Fey and changes your status.

To me he seems more geared towards archery and melee. His Swordbow is a unique item that is powerful in any setting. Melandrach is a powerful, slippery opponent if you're evil. A wily bastard if he likes you even.
CR 14 is fairly powerful for a group of 5'th level PC's. I like him better as a Wildrunner as opposed to a Druid. Plus I like his Ranger class better than his old fighter class. Well done indeed.
I mean, after all, Melandrach is a very, very old Green elf fey male. Truly he is the King of The Laughing Hollow.
