After using the candlekeep for lore gathering for over a year now, I finally took the step to register.
My first step into the Forgotten Realms was about 16 years ago, give or take, when I got my hands on the first Baldur's Gate computer game. After that I started DMing a few short-lived D&D campaigns and playing every other forgotten realms computer game I could get my hands on, I eventually found my first Forgotten Realms Novel.
Years later and not long before D&D's 4th edition was announced, my interests shifted elsewhere as studies and music took more of my time, and as such, the only forgotten realms I had was the occational novel, which today should total to somewhere between 30 to 40 novels.
Today, or rather one and a half years back, I bought the D&D 5th edition core books, started DMing a campaign set in the Forgotten Realms. At the same time I dusted off my old 3rd edition/FR sourcebooks, most of which I got when my favorite local hobby shop went bankrupt 11 years back, looking for FR lore and material to convert into 5th edition.
I will probably have a lot of questions over time about the established lore and "presumed" lore/filling in "lost years", both for my campaign and for my own curiosity/pet projects (ha! who am I kidding, it will mostly be for my own curiosity ).

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
