So a group of Drow elf wizards slew Errtu on Faerun, sending him back to his layer of the abyss for a hundred years. Now Errtu is a Demon Lord right? Or is he just a high leveled Balor Tanar'ri? Poor guy... Drizzt defeated him, and now other drow elf have slain him again. I would imagine Errtu can't stand the sight of drow elves at this point. lol.

Any thoughts?

According to the wiki, Errtu is a normal balor, not a demon lord. Seems he has his own abyssal layer, so above average balor, but still defeatable by adventurers or mages.

Instead of seeking change, you prefer a void, merciless abyss of a world...

He's a normal balor. Lolth sought him out because of his grudge against Drizz't, since any other balor would have flipped her off and told her to get stuffed.

Claiming to be the lord of an abyssal layer doesn't mean you actually are an Abyssal Lord. Errtu's layer is so insignificant it doesn't even appear on the official list of layers. He's a powerful demon, but that doesn't mean he's on par with Severik and Glyphimor.
