I know there are the Wizard's Spell Compendiums and such, but can anyone tell me if there is a complete list of wizard's spells for 2E AD&D where the spells are sorted by level?
I'm looking to see lists of all of the 1st Level Spells together, etc. The Wizard's Compendium just has all of the spells alphabetized and not sorted by levels.

I believe the Realms wiki was working on it, but I couldn't tell you whether or not it's complete.

Yeah I've checked that but it's MAYBE 5% complete at best. |

Do you have the Forgotten Realms Adventures hardcover? If you do, check page 150. |

Yeah that's a good start, but that book came out in 1990 and the Wizard's Spell Compendium (covering every spell released for 1E and 2E) came out in 1995 ... leaving a 5 year gap of spells for FR Adventures. |

I did have a list separated by level and school but it was on an old Mac and ditched for formatting reasons - computer literate I am not.
I did consider doing one again many moons ago, but my Realms time is best devoted to other endeavors at the moment. Go to it! A labour of love but so worth it.

Yep, I'll go through the Wizard's Spell Compendiums for 2E and create an Excel sheet. I'll be sure to let everyone here know when it's finished. |

Is it a complete list like the 2E Wizard's Spell Compendiums are? Also, don't play 3E or 3.5 so I'm not sure if the spells are even the same as 2E. |

That's going to be quite the undertaking. The spell compendiums, both priest and wizard volumes, have spells from the all editions and products till the point they were published in the 90s. There are even 'forgotten' spells that the designers choose not republish for one reason or another. |

I'm just doing the Wizard's spells for 2E for now. I should have the first Wizard's Spell Compendium completed today. |

If you just need a list, look also at this (incomplete, but still, as a list) Or try Wizard's Netbook v2.
I got a spreadsheet compiled from WNB table plus other net sources - so there are more spells from Dragon, old Mystara stuff, Pages from the Mages (like both versions of Chromatic Blade), too, if you're interested.

That's decent, but far from complete. I'll just make the list myself with the Spell Compendiums. It's a fun project. |

Yes, but it wasn't at the very end of 2e/PO era, so it's still not complete, as you can see from DragonDex. Though it's later than Wizard's Netbook 2 (march 1995), so does include spell from all official sources there (as opposed to netbooks).

I've finished the first two Wizard Spell Compendiums and starting the third today. Is there a way to upload this sheet here at Candlekeep for those who are interested? |

It includes spells from both the Priest's and Wizard's compendiums, as well as all (that I could find at least) sources published after the their compilation. It is sortable by name, spell level, school/sphere, and source.

I love the format of that list and might have to incorporate it into mine.
My list only including 2E Wizard Spells has 41 more 1st level spells than the list in your link which I assume is including 1st level Wizard AND Priest spells? |

Not in the same tab; the first tab is priest spells and the second tab is wizard spells.

Just 2nd Edition. Only 1st Ed would be compatible, and they updated them in the Compendiums (those that weren't withdrawn).

Wow, just looking at only 1st level Wizard spells, you had roughly double what I had just using the compendiums. There were really that many spells published in other 2E sourcebooks after the compendiums were published? |

Yep, something like 870 spells, which is about 40% of the total in the Compendiums. The Wizard's Spell Compendiums were compiled in 1997-1998, so there were about three years worth of material after the fact.
There were only about 170 new additions to the Priest's list (10% on top of the compilation) mostly from Dragon Magazine, since that was compiled in 1999, and of course there have always been fewer priest spells.
