Finished The Enceladus Crisis, and now I'm jonesing for the third book to be published, so I can read it. I've also started reading the related e-book (a novella, really), called The Gravity of the Affair, focusing on a young lieutenant Horatio Nelson.
I read a book called Private Berlin. It was okay, but not great.
I decided to go ahead and give Inferno, by Dan Brown, a try. I enjoyed the first two Robert Langdon novels, but The Lost Symbol was a huge disappointment, and I remain unhappy that his apparent tease about involving the Kryptos sculpture in that book was not fulfilled. So I'm iffy on this one, from the outset. |

THE BONEHUNTERS by Steven Erikson. Tehol Beddict might just be my favorite fantasy character at the moment. |

Inferno wasn't bad... I was bugged by the absolutely pointless concealment of some of the player's identities, with the equally pointless revelation of their names, but that was the only thing that really bothered me. (Seriously, his avoidance of their names was pointless. The story was not aided in any way by it, and finally finding out their names also failed to do anything for the story. It was far from being an "I am your father" moment.) He did play a bit with whose side everyone was on, which was kinda nifty, and the ending went in an unanticipated direction... But it still wasn't The Da Vinci Code.
Now I'm reading Broken Blade by Kelly McCullough. I enjoyed his Webmage series, so I decided to give this one a spin. |

Working on The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie ... just finished book one (The Blade Itself) and am starting book two now (Before They Are Hanged). Very strong writing and characterization... and EXCELLENT narrator in Steven Pacey through Audible. |

My brtoher was just asking me the other day about that Joe Abercrombie book. I need to check that one out.
I recently picked up two Fantasy books for $1 apiece that I am reading through: Dave Duncan's The Gilded Chain and G. Carwyn & T. Fahnestock's Heir of Autumn. |

Reading In Enemy Hands , a Honor Harrington novel by David Weber. I just discovered this series somewhat recently and I have to say its turned out to be a hidden gem, though the author does have a tendency to pontificate. |

I went used book shopping today. Picked up: Elminster in Hell, God Catcher, Prince of Lies & Crucible. I haven't read any of these yet. I am really looking forward to God Catcher because the forums have made Ms. Evans books sound so good. |

I liked Skin Game so much that I did indeed re-read every Dresden novel, including Skin game again.

Just finished the first three books of the Fallen Blade series, by Kelly McCullough. I enjoyed his WebMage series, and while this is quite different, it is still very enjoyable.
The main character is a former assassin... But not a murderer for hire; he served the goddess of Justice, and members of his order were only sent after people who would otherwise not be brought to justice for their crimes, like rulers and nobility. But then his goddess was murdered... So now he's just a guy who does shady stuff and drinks too much.
And one of the things that makes it interesting is that he's also a spellcaster, and his familiar is a sentient shadow that replaces his own shadow, and adds some nifty capabilities into the mix.
I read the first three books in one go; I'd be reading the fourth book already, but I have to wait for it to be delivered!
So I'm reading the new Secret Histories book by Simon R Green, Casino Infernale. Just started it this morn. |

Just finished RA Salvatore's Rise of the King (Companions Codex part 2), the sequel to Night of the Hunter.
Got a preview ebook copy via netgalley (its actually out in early August; I'm going to buy a copy then).
Overall, I really liked it. Anyone want a (spoiler-free) review? |

I've heard nothing but good stuff about The Name of the Wind... I have the book myself, but my reading list far exceeds my time to read.
Naever heard of the other. I just read the blurb on it, and it does not get my attention. It does remind me, though, that it's been a while since I read Red Storm Rising, which is one I quite enjoy. |

About halfway through war of Honor by David Weber . As i may have remarked earlier Mr. Weber , while a good author, does seem to love his info dumps. nothing wrong with that if done well but I would have preferred less of it in this book and a bit more action. |

I am currently reading The Ghost King by R.A. Salvatore. I've been alternating between a Legend of Drizzt book and a War of The Spider Queen book. Once I finish The Ghost King, it's on to read Annihilation of WOTSQ by Phil Athans. |

Finished all 3 books in the Broken Empire trilogy by Mark Lawrence, and it was awesooooome. Loved it. Jorg....what a fantastic character. 5 stars for the trilogy.
Next is Lawrence's first book in his new trilogy 'The Red Queen's War', Prince of Fools. Then it's onto Anthony Ryan's newest one 'Tower Lord'. After that I have 'Best Served Cold' by Abercrombie lined up. |

Finished Casino Infernale last night; it's the newest Secret Histories book by Simon R Green to hit paperback. As one might guess from the title, it is inspired by, and draws heavily from, the first James Bond novel, Casino Royale. It is, in fact, the same basic plot, but with the usual weird science, future tech, magic and such thrown in. Enjoyable, but not great.
I just started the fourth book of the Fallen Blade series, Blade Reforged. I'm quite enjoying this series.
I'm not sure what I'm going to read next; maybe the Sundering books. A recent discussion has me wanting to revisit the Death's Gate Cycle, too. |

Started a complete reading of Marvel's Spider-Man 1990 comic book series.
I'd missed a lot of the first two years' worth of issues during the initial release, but recently managed to purchase ALL the ones I was missing at great prices last week at a second-hand book retailer. So I'm working my way, complete, through the whole series.
It's interesting to note that while I knew Todd McFarlane was a controversial choice to launch the book, I didn't fully appreciate the kind of backlash from some Spidey-readers about his initial story-arcs, until I started reading the letters published in each issue's fan-letter columns. |

Spiderman was always one of my favorites but I haven't read any of his comics for a while. That whole soft reboot thing combined with the last two god awful movies have really put me off. |
