Ms Cunningham has a new novel?.....awesome.

Gauntylgrym should feature Bruenor....I forget what date Ghost King ended. And I may be mistaken but I believe RAS and Ed have carte blanche when it comes to what is canon...So if RAS wants to extend Bruenors life...he can

I don't read the novels of the 4e realms, but I might have to make an exception for Elaine Cunningham.

Hmmmm....

Amazon:Reading level: Young Adult

Seems that this is not precisely focused on CKs age average.

I enjoyed his Plague of Spells. So I might read this as well.

I have that one unread on the shelf. Saw it starts in Starmantle... guess I should really start reading it!

'Tis WotC's way of 'going with the flow.' So many YA novels these days focus on angels and vampires that they've become like mosquitoes in a swamp.

That YA stamps shows up on most Realms books, depending on who's selling it. It's the seller's call, not the publisher's, weird as that sounds. I know The God Catcher was listed as YA in many places, despite the fact that it has no teenagers, vampires, or angels. :)

Another new book has turned up on Amazon. Venom in Her Veins by Tim Pratt. The Amazon page features a longer description but the basics are that it features a Yuan Ti pureblood who is mistaken for a human child and adopted by a human family. It sounds like things are okay until she realizes that she isn't human. I've wanted to see more of the Yuan Ti since I read the House of Serpents trilogy so I will be looking into this one.

Neat.

I'm not familiar with Pratt's work, but yuan-ti are among my favourite of the various scaly-folk. So I'll be looking forward to this.

I'm not sure. I was never fond of the scaly folks. So probably I will pass---unless some other interesting tidbits come along.

Young Adult Reading is fine with me. There are novels for the younger readers (the Netheril Trilogy, The Stowaway...) and more adult novels, such as Ed Greenwood's or R.A. Salvatore's. It's good that Wizards is trying to appeal to more readers, because more readers will give them us more fans.

My Amazon searching has turned up an interesting entry. A new book by Bruce Cordell, called Spinner of Lies. It appears to be a sequel to Sword of the Gods. Here is the description, which has a very interesting second paragraph:

"Demascus is once again chasing memories of his past lives, as he and Riltana follow the trail of paintings that possess slivers of Oghma God of Knowledge’s power. But Madri, returned as an ethereal mass, is also on the hunt, and she has dark secrets of her own. Nothing is as it seems and Demascus must decide for himself where his allegiance lies. Right after his momentous rematch with archrival Kalkan!

Spinner of Lies kicks off the 2012 Schemes of the Spider Queen Encounters season with unforeseeable events that will have bold, sweeping ramifications across the Underdark."

Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
