In the Malaugrym various description (from 2E products) there is a Castle of shadow mentioned. Is there any more info about their "home" except his name?

Yes it is. The castle is located in the plane of shadow(surprise surprise) and the shadows there apparently contribute to the malaugryms shapechanging abilities. Adventurers entering the castle almost immediately find themselves "changing" in all manner of ways and places.

I was looking to find some info on the plane of shadow (some described feature maybe) in various 2E/3E sources, but I didn't found anything really interesting.. Maybe I missed something ? (Nearly nothing in Planespace material, a small write-up in both Manual of the Planes (1E/3E)..

In Planescape material it would be under the Ethereal, so the Guide to the Ethereal Plane sourcebook, because it was a demiplane in 2e.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird
