I wanted to drop in and share this link. It contains links to a sample chapter, a list of the EXPANSIVE bundled content in SHADOWBANE, and links to download a copy (of course).
Check back for updates as well.

SHADOWBANE releases tomorrow!
Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Shadowbane-Forgotten-Realms-Novel-ebook/dp/B004ZZKRLS/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

One negative "review" so far, but it's a non-customer complaining about the format. I'm very sympathetic, but that's just a little mean-spirited, to pan a book you didn't buy. Anyone with this feeling, I encourage you to write to Wizards to express your discontent, not blast my writing online, please.

At least he read a small excerpt of Elaine's book--he hasn't even had a chance to read any of SHADOWBANE.
I think it's just a misunderstanding of the purpose of Amazon reviews. They're supposed to be reviews of THAT PRODUCT, not "I can't have this other product, so nyah!" It wouldn't even be a thing except that people see the one-star and pass on the book.
It's a shame, really.

If I'm looking at online reviews for anything, I personally look for something with a lot of reviews. Thinks I you can't trust just one review.
I recently talked myself out of a purchase I didn't need, mainly by looking at reviews of the product, instead of just how great a bargain it was. |

My sympathies, Erik.
Reviews can be very odd. I once received an unfavorable review that harped on how stupid and atrocious a particular scene was. The reviewer described the scene in great detail to give full vent to his loathing and contempt. And that scene is not in the novel. There's nothing remotely like it in the novel.
Since I discovered that an unfavorable review can be like that, they haven't bothered me as much. |

Great philosophy.
I got an unfavorable review once that harped on a scene with two female characters kissing. Which was, of course, totally in the novel. So I figured I was doing something right.

Either that or you are telepathically beaming scenes from novels from the thoughts in your head!!!
In which case, you're going to have to figure a way to charge people for getting your thoughts in their head. Ask your agent for help. |

Not only that, but, ultimately, whatever the format [at least from my perspective], it's the story itself that counts.
I agree. I'm no fan of electronic-only material, but the content should trump the format. |

Okay, so apparently there's a delay in making this available in Australia. I'm thinking I have to wait until the US hits the 27th?
No idea, but that seems reasonable. Or perhaps it's a specific *time* today when you can download it?
I haven't tried it myself. Anyone else?

I was able to purchase and download it, but only through Barnes & Noble. My attempts through Amazon were for naught, and since it was important that I purchase the book today, I decided to give up on the Internet giant and go through the place that has some brick & mortar stores left.
Either way, though, I has it. And I don't even need to leave my computer at work to read it. |

Cool. Wonder what's going on with Amazon? I choose to believe they're crashed from too many people ordering it.

When I tried yesterday, which was the 27th for me here in Australia, I just kept receiving an error message claiming that the product was not yet available.
I've tried again this morning, on the 28th, and I'm now told that it can be purchased. Unfortunately, I'm at work now, so it will have to wait until I get home.

Well my copy showed up all by itself on my kindle app on iPad. Funny thing is I pre-ordered it many moons ago as a paperback. When it was switched to eBook only ...I kinda forgot I had done so. Looks like Amazon switched it to the e version I guess. Weird. I'm enjoying the first few chapters (whew ....fate hasn't let up on Kalen has it?)I have had time for today , so it's not like I'm angry(was going to order sooner or later, (I was still havin the e- pricing vs. paper debate with myself and wasn't quite ready to) but I may still email them to find out how I ended up purchasing it, before purchasing it |
