Interesting... We might have to bug the author, to see if he can drop any tidbits.

And it's not like I've been holding my tongue all that long. I've only had the book written since January, after all.

Hrm, we'll see . . . in the meantime, what do *you* think it means?

Knowing me, it's apt to be a bit, erm, DARKER than the Cat Stevens song.

In fact, yeah, think OPPOSITE of the Cat Stevens song.

In fact, never play that song again!

There's actually a NIN song on the playlist for one of the main characters of the book.

Is it "Closer"?

Congrats on the book, I look forward to it.

There's a great version of that tune out there that has Super Mario Brothers sound effects added in. The timing of some of the sounds and lyrics is great, too -- particularly when the sound of Mario going into a pipe plays.

Actually I was a huge fan back in the day, wore out The Downward Spiral when it came out. But that one song with the mechanical noise like nails on a chalkboard all throughout it makes me insane!

And the best NIN song ever is This!

From "Year Zero?" Heh. An interesting choice. And considering the actual subject matter of the song, I think I'm starting to understand just a little of what this character could be facing in the book -- in Realms terms of course!

Thanks Erik.

I have to ask: fourteenth or fifteenth century DR?

Lost for words? Find them in the Glossary of Phrases, Sayings & Words of the Realms

I am a sexy, shoeless god of war!

The Sellplague began, for all intents and purposes, in the dominions of the Corporation. Greed murdered Good Design, unraveling common sense in the cosmos and destroying her dominion. At the same time, Sales Fears and Warcraft Envy happened into alignment. This cataclysmic coincidence led to upheaval, shaking apart the primeval order, opening up holes in wallets, and reshaping everything...

I'm assuming it's post-Spellplague, in the 1479 DR era, much like Steven Schend's Blackstaff Tower.

As for *where* it is, I might hint that it's somewhere "down" and "shadowy." Got a guess?
