So I just found this gem out and I'm so excited someone went through the trouble of converting the setting/rules to 5th Edition.

So what exactly is Dungeons and Destiny? Well what someone has done here is take the video game by Bungie/Activision called Destiny and turn it into an RPG. The video game - a futuristic first person shooter/looter - is also class and level based, like many other RPGs. Now once you get your abilities, you're leveling comes in the form of weapons and item upgrades, but that doesn't need to be the case in a typical RPG.

The setting is pretty wide-spread, taking players to a myriad of different landscapes and planets in our solar system (Mars, Mercury, the moon Titan, the moon Io, Earth, etc) to take on invaders of the Sol system. You play as a Guardian, someone infused by Light with the entity known as the Traveler.

For those who've played the game, it really is a great conversion - allowing you to play a variety of species (Humanity, the Awoken, Exos, even Vex!). It also breaks down your class into two apsects: Class and Superclass. Each class is tied to one of the three Superclasses: Hunter, Titan, or Warlock. These provide benefits that all version of a class gets and those benefits are provided by your 4th Character Level.

You also choose a class, such as a Sunbreaker or Stormcaller. These are specialized options within the Superclass that is powered by one of the three power-sources found in the game: Arc, Solar, or Void. You recognize them and their styles which are very similar to their Vide-Game versions. A Sunbreaker can, for example, summon flaming radiant warhammers to throw at enemies.

For the monsters, they sort of brought back some 4th Edition concepts of monster "roles" (minion, soldier, elite, and Major/Ultra) and thse sort of help DMs determine how many of such a creature is appropriate to throw at their players to make it challenging. A dozen or so Hive can possiby be easily handled, but two dozen with two Hive Knights and a Hive Ogre...well that's gonna be rough.

Some other things that they took into account - your Ghost. For those who don't know - Guardians (the PCs) get an aid of a sorts called a Ghost, sort of what helps a Guardian maintain his connection to the Traveler and the Light. Ghosts can replicate a number of items and even fast resurrect you. In the game, it's not uncommon to die a lot in completing a quest and the game goes on to clearly state that. In many places, where the Light is present, dying is a matter of inconvenience. Except in places where the Dark has crept in, when it's not or maybe even impossible. Yes, people absolutely can die in Destiny (poor Cayde).

Anyways, check out the link and all the material there is free to download. There's the Player's Guidebook (I prefer the Single-page PDF), the Architect's Guide (DMG), and the Bestiary of the Wilds (monster manual). There's also character sheets and a word doc detailing the Origin Stories, giving you a good background on the setting and giving you plot ideas of what's going on.

Enjoy!
