Yup, and if you read Ed's Down to Earth Divinity in Dragon Magazine #54, you'll see he used the four elemental lords from Melnibonea (thus, Kossuth is really Kakatal), and also its beast lords. Ilmatar is really 'Issek of the jug' from Newhon - another mythos that was included in the 1st print run, but not there after (as was the Cthulhu mythos as well - those three were left out of later print-runs).

Elric has the rather dubious honor of being the highest level mortal ever stated-out in D&D - a total of 129 levels!

1E Deities & Demigods included the Melnibonean and Cthulhu mythos in the 1979 first printing. But they were removed in the 1980 second printing because Chaosium held copyright. The Arthurian and Nehwon mythos were removed in 1981 printings. And what was left got revamped all over again in 1985 sixth printing as Legends & Lore.

Then it all got reworked again for 2E just a couple years later, lol.
