Hello! I've been coming here on and off for various bits of obscure information for a while, and figured it was time to finally get an account. I've been fairly active on Salvatore's board for a number of years, so a few of you might know me from there.

(pokes head in)

Hi there! Don't mind the noob in your forums, I'm friendly ;)

Who am I? I'm Vicky, a long time player of RPG's of many types. I've barely tapped the potential that is D&D as my group had little interest in it, preferring this thing called "Middle Earth" for their campaign settings. Until recently. After so many years of adventuring there, it's a bit played out, and the masses want to try something 'new.' We're going to be trying D&D 4th edition, and lucky me, I'm the DM for this experiment, so I get to learn the lore and history of D&D to make the story make sense in the game world. I've been doing a lot of research the last month, learning the system and the history bit by bit. And as I've come across questions, I turn to the internet for answers. More often than not, I've come across this one site that's always in the top three search result spots for an answer- this site, actually. After using your knowledge to begin building my campaign, I figured I'd officially join so that 1, I could say "Thanks!" and two, so I could ask the harder questions to those who seem to know best.

Anyways, i'm off to consult some sages. Allow me to say one more time: thanks for being an awesome resource ;)

matty, Slazick, Odessa33: Welcome to Candlekeep. Whatever your gaming (or literary) persuasion, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better, friendlier resource. Stay a spell and browse the archives.

One usually has far more to fear from the soft-spoken wizard with a blade and well-worn boots than from the boisterous one in the ivory tower.

I've lurved so much, I thought I was a member! Hmm, anywho I'm more active at Knights-n-Knaves, Dragonsfoot, and Unseen Servant. Like I said I thought I was already a member, so I wanted to post a message about a new PbP at Unseen Servant, and bam! realized I wasn't a member. :)
Glad to be one now, hope all are well!

Hello all!!!! I've just finished the first Elminster book and the first 10 Legend of Drizzt books and looking to expand my collection of stories. I've also just gotten the 3.0 and 3.5 books so I can start doing tabletop gaming (I have all the PC games).

Realized it was rude to ask a question and not introduce myself! Hi, I'm Jan. I was told that if I wanted to learn more about the Realms this was a great place to start.

Welcome, this clearly is one of the best places to find answers.

"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards."
"Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding.
"After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first."

Hello fellow sages and forum members,

I have sought the information from here for a little while and decided to join up. No more hiding and sneaking around, sorry some habits are hard to break. (When seeking info about things best not mentioned out loud!)
I am also a big fan of Rifts and Palladium adventures, which I am playing in a game from both. I am have playing in and been a DM in AD&D games since 2nd edition was released. Many a PC I have left in dungeons. I am currently playing in 2nd edition Oriental game that has been meeting once a week since 2006. My user name is my characters name from that game. I will also be running a 2nd edition ninja campaign set in 1893 Japan and China before the Sino - Japanese War.

Well just wanted to say hi and give a little background,

Su Han

Greetings and well met fellows! My name is Dr. Erika van Sheldon and I am the leader of the Company of the Blue Axe. for those of you who do not know of us we are an adventuring company based in Waterdeep. The tales of our battles have become quite famous and we are always looking for more lore on the dungeons we delve and the like. I look forward to joining the horde of Realmslore seekers in this fair library and hope to raise a tankard of ale with all of ye.
again well met and fair thee well.

Um, I've actually been here for a couple of weeks, and finally realized I haven't introduced myself properly (sorry). I'm Drustan Dwnhaedan, a half-dragon (copper, in case you want to know) scholar who seeks knowledge and understanding (and patience, as I am prone to being rather nonsensical at times). I hope to get along with my fellow scribes and to have fun in general! (Er, and I'd also like to apologize for my tardiness in introducing myself. I trust that I'm forgiven for that little breach of conduct?)

H'lo. I've been a fan of fantasy since an early age and an interest in RPGs naturally followed suit. I'm a big fan of the Realms because of it's diversity - you have knights and dragons mingling with ninja and dinosaurs. There's something for every kind of fantasy campaign. Hoping to have some interesting discussions about my favorite high fantasy setting.

I for one would be suspicious of a copper dragon (or kin) who wasn't tardy or didn't commit a little breach of conduct here and there.

Hello Scribes, my name's Jim and I'm a 40 year-old writer and editor. English by birth, but Polish by residence. :D My life-long love of D&D began with the now-legendary Basic Edition red box. I'll never forget those plastic dice and the white crayon for colouring the numbers. :D My D&Ding sort of came to an end at the end of the nineties when me and my friends finished school and went our separate ways, although by then I'd already tasted the sweet fruit of Commodore 64 and Amiga 500 AD&D games. :D Although I haven't PnP'd in a looong time, I've kept up my CRPGing, esp. through the Neverwinter SP games and DDO. But it was Cryptic's Neverwinter MMOG that made me dig out my old FR novels (Azure Bonds rahh!), and also led me here. Which looks like a great place to be, so thank you for providing it! :D
