I am about halfway through the Lies of Locke Lamora by Scoot Lynch and wow! its amazing. I wish I had read this book years ago. Its one of the few that actually live up to the hype surrounding them. |

I was taking my son to the bookstore yesterday, so he could play with Thomas stuff (he's not yet 3, loves Thomas the Tank Engine, and the bookstore has a nifty setup), and discovered a book I was not expecting to be out yet -- William Shakespeare's The Empire Striketh Back. So now I'm reading that, and Dawn's Early Light, and Warmachine: Vengeance. |

I think either that book or Abercrombie's The Blade Itself are easily the best debut fantasy books I've ever read. |

I just finished it yesterday and frankly its hard to believe this is Lynch's first book, I hope the rest are equally good.

Finished Divergent. Decent enough; but I'm not a tween girl, so it doesn't resonate that strongly with me.
Now, to keep plugging away at 'Untold Tales of Middle Earth.' Love me some history and errata from Tolkien! |

Book 2 is great. Book 3 is hit or miss; for me it didn't feel like the same kind of book as the first 2. |

...No, seriously. That's the name of the new Warmachine book. And I got it today.
Now I've got new game material and a new steampunk novel to read, both of which I had been waiting for. Happy hamster!
I'm hoping for some great Khador goodies in Vengeance. Plus some Cygnar fools that I can test them on! |

I think the Khador journeyman warcaster is cooler than Cygnar's is. And I do mourn the fact that Cygnar is no longer the only faction with the journeyman warcaster... Though there isn't anything to keep me from fielding the Journeyman Warcaster solo and Alison Jakes, the journeyman warcaster Character. I would have figured there would have been some errata to prevent that. |

Hmm... well that is a bit disheartening to hear, still I hope he gets back to form with the next one. |

Well with more than 700 pages its not exactly light reading material but frankly it leaves you hungry for more.

After that I will most likely read The Reaver by Richard Lee Byers |

Took a break from reading Count Zero (mostly do to getting sick a couple weeks ago, and because I didn't want to accidentally throw up on a book I had borrowed from a friend) and re-read my collection of Naruto manga. |

Currently reading the third, 'Allegiance' at the same time as RAS newest Drizzt book.
And a Terry Pratchet book I haven't read yet ('Thief of Time') |

About halfway through On Basilisk Station, an old fashioned sci fi space epic by David Weber. I needed a break from all the fantasy stuff I have been reading lately. |

About halfway through Path of the Archon by Andy Chambers. The third part of a trilogy focusing on the Dark Eldar. I have not read the first two books but still managed to enjoyed this one. |

I've finished my reading of the first three volumes of Marvel's Iron Man comic book series -- the 1963 series, the "Heroes Reborn" mini-series, and the 1998 relaunch. I'm now reading both a non-fiction source -- The Intimate Philosophy of Art, and the 2005 relaunched Iron Man comic book series.
Still not sure why I'm on this IM-reading kick lately, but it's been a lot of fun seeing the character evolve from the early 60's to the early 00's. |

Finished Night of the Hunter (more about that in that particular thread).
Reading 'Dangerous Women" anthology simply at this point for Martin's original 'Dance of the Dragons' entry.

I heard the Dangerous Women anthology was an adventure in false advertising. |

I checked out that book from the library to read the Dresden Files tale that is in there. The George R.R. Martin tale was a bonus.
I didn't read anything else from the book. |

Yeah...from what I've peeked and gone over, it'll be Dresden with apprentice "Grasshopper" and the 'Dance of the Dragons.' |

Finished Mayhem by Sarah Pinborough. Good book, but the ending felt a little rushed. At any rate, I am very much looking forward to the sequel Murder. No release date yet in the US...
Next up? Not sure, but am leaning towards The Reaver by Richard Lee Byers |

Looks like I'll be starting A Song of Ice and Fire. Wife gave me the collection for our 5 year anniversary! Now I guess we'll have to decide whether to save a novel or two so the series isn't spoiled. ;) |
