Well, after far, far too many RW distractions, I finally finished The Elfstones of Shannara, which I quite enjoyed. I'll probably start on The Wishsong of Shannara tomorrow.

I loved Wishsong!

A friend (who keeps threatening to register here) and I had a debate that lasted for years, concerning whether Elfstones or Wishsong was better... Eventually he caved and admitted Elfstones was better.

Lol, I try not to get involved with book debates, because no matter how much someone loves something, there are always going to be people who dislike it.

Both of us liked both books... We just had a very on-again, off-again argument on which was better. It was never any kind of a heated debate, it was just a casual "this one is better than the other one" thing.

I finished Out of the Dark last night; it was quite enjoyable. The author threw a twist in there I did not see coming; it was an interesting spin on the usual approach.

The book makes my list of best new reads of 2015.

I started Yamada Monogatari: Demon Hunter this morn. It seems to be more a collection of short stories about the titular character (an impoverished Japanese nobleman in the Heian era) than a regular novel, but I've seen other books where apparently unrelated epsiodes eventually form into one cohesive whole. I'm enjoying it, thus far.

Closing in on the end of the Two Swords by RA Salvatore.

Will be listening to the audiobook of the Confusion by Neal Stephenson on my drive to see family for the holidays.

Hope everybody has a happy holiday and gets plenty of reading done!

I really enjoyed Yamada Monogatari: Demon Hunter; it also makes the list of the best new reads of 2015.

I read A Knight of Seven Kingdoms whilst I was in SC... I had plenty of reading time, so it only took a couple days. But it didn't grab me as well as it could have.

I had another book that I took on the trip with me, but I decided not to read it right then... Instead, I checked out bookstores in the Greenville area for the second Yamada Monogatari book, but I could only find the third one. So I read a Transformers graphic novel instead.

I drove 500 miles to get home today... And immediately found a convenient excuse to have to go back out, so I could hit the bookstore for that second book!

I'm not really sure why we killed the 2013 thread after a year, but let the 2014 one go for two... But I think it time to start a new one.
