Because of the extra add-on minis, I've committed more to the Warmachine Kickstarter than I did to the Larry Elmore one.

Besides, I get to play Warmachine on occasion -- not as oft as I would like, but often enough. I've not played a tabletop RPG since 2E.

Ooo! This one looks good. But, again, it comes down to my budget. Can I afford to back this one when I also want to desperately back 'Red Aegis' and 'Warmachine Tactics?'

Decision time.

Only 50-odd hours left on this one, but it's a 20th anniversary graphic novel that I think a lot of Realms fans might really enjoy.

I've described this as Neil Gaiman meets Robert Holdstock & Ed Greenwood and they build a deep mythical universe around stories and tales and loads of mysteries.

Do check it out--the video and/or whatever you can find by James Artemus Owen.

I'm a backer and want to see this succeed beyond all measure....but I also want like-minded friends (like all y'all herein) to not miss out on a great book they might really enjoy.

Looks interesting.... 700 pages of comics in PDF format for $20 isn't bad. Could be fun when on a plane flight to read or something. I think I'll take your recommendation.

I've heard mixed reviews on that kicktraq site. I've no experience with it myself, but in following discussions on the Warmachine: Tactics Kickstarter (which was funded in 35 hours, and is now $400k past the goal), I've seen a lot of commentary about that site.

Send me the message through Kickstarter. That way it's easier to keep track of when we're sending the pledge rewards out.

RA Salvatore just launched a Kickstarter for an old-school style RPG (but seems to have some modern considerations) set in the setting for his DemonWars novels, the world of Corona.

Hello folks. RED AEGIS has hit a mid campaign slump and is hovering just $700 shy of unlocking a new adventure & fiction by Ed Greenwood. If you're interested at all in this game, now would be the time to help push us over the top. Much appreciation!

From what I've seen, most Kickstarters slump in the middle, and then dramatically spike back up in the final hours. Some of the Kickstarters I've backed have gotten $10,000 or more in the last 24 hours.

I wish somebody would kickstart remakes of the gold box games, kickstart Eye of the Beholder IV, Neverwinter Nights 3 etc. I'd set it up so my salary went straight to the project :p
Also, a sandbox Realms game in the style of Skyrim, starting with, say, "Cormyr".
Edit: Though I have to admit RED AEGIS sounds pretty interesting now that I checked the link above!

ALL of the SSI games, really. As there were a few of the DRAGONLANCE ones that I loved so much. Like Dark Queen of Krynn. I still get a nostalgia-itch to play through that one every so often.

Hey, if developer-folk can rejuvenate a classic game like Elite via Kickstarter... then some of the old classic SSI games can't be too far behind, eh?

I didn't hear about your first project, BUT this made me look at this project. Milady, you make beautiful music and I was happy to send a few dollars in your direction after listening to your samples. This will make beautiful music to listen to when I want to relax or work on personal projects. I only wish I had such creative talent.

By the gods, those Bones took off.

Here's another one of relevant interest:

Dragon Kings by Timothy Brian Brown is the spiritual successor setting to Dark Sun (which Timothy co-designed).

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1084491323/dragon-kings?ref=users

quote:

From Dragon Kings Kickstarter Page

Khitus is a world in decline. New heroes must emerge to challenge the wicked before all is lost …

The benevolent Dragon Kings who once ruled over Khitus have inexplicably vanished, leaving once-powerful nations at the mercy of foul creatures unchecked. Cold Skins and Krikis grow numerous and bold. Desperate cities of the Old Countries struggle against savage marauders who stalk ever closer to their crumbling walls. Ancient wizard schools guard their tomes more jealously than ever, essential to their dark sorcerous bargains, while the followers of a mysterious prophet rekindle the magic-that-is-not-magic. The essential materials of life and civilization are being ruthlessly plundered by the mysterious Pretenders in their Black Fortress, leaving the southern lands, especially, in dire straits.

Adventurers must face the wrath of a violent world to not only survive but to right these wrongs, protect the innocent, seek the fate of the Dragon Kings, and reintroduce some semblance of justice to a world on the brink of destruction.

Dragon Kings is a new fantasy game world conceived and presented in fiction, art, and music simultaneously by Timothy Brown, co-creator of Dark Sun and 2300AD.

The Dragon Kings project is growing all the time. Listen to new song clips as they’re released, see new art and maps, and discover the expanding lore at http://www.dragonkingsproject.com

THE DRAGON KINGS TEAM

Timothy Brown, Dragon Kings’ creator, has said “this is my spiritual successor to Dark Sun.” He is a writer, songwriter, and performer on the project.

He has recruited a talented team to contribute to the project including but not limited to...
Artists and Cartographers: Thomas Babbey, Thomas M. Baxa, Brom, Diesel, Thomas Denmark, Alyssa Faden

Musicians: Frank Klepacki, Mark Stevens, Mike Stone

Game Designers and Editors: Ricardo Bianconi, Tom Cadorette, Darren W. Pearce, Thomas M. Reid

Short Story Authors and Editors: Jamie Chambers, Jeff Grubb, Shane Hensley, James Lowder, Colin McComb, Don Perrin, Jean Rabe, Steven Schend, Stan!, James M. Ward, Steve Winter

We will notice some familiar names here.

Actually with the combination of a progressive rock album and a fantasy setting, this is probably what 4E Realms should have featured with all the initial talk about swiping the look of Journey album covers. ;P

Hey Guys,

Orange County Gaming Group (OCGG) is on it's last day of funding for a project to create custom music, sound effects, and voice overs for
Tabletop Gamers, called the Realmsound Project 2.0. They're funded and are working through their stretch goals. I'm loving the idea of their custom soundboard app where I can organize and mix all of my audio in particular. Anyway, details below.

Quote from their KS:
"Often using an OST from Lord of the Rings or other great movies just doesn’t quite set the particular setting that the GM is striving for. It’s not easy finding a sorrowful howl of an undead or the ground shaking thunder of a charging orc hoard. Trying to change your voice just a little bit or adding an accent to try to bring some life to those non-player characters gets tiring and falls a bit flat. Everything changes now! We are the Orange County Gaming Group and we are bringing tabletop gaming to the next level by composing a library of custom made, high quality music, voice overs, and sound effects, made by rockstar talent. What we have sourced has been unbelievable and has transformed the way we game, but don’t take our word for it….."

Name: The Realmsound Project 2.0
URL: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/105982873/realmsound-project-20
By: The Orange County Gaming Group
Goal: $5,000 (FUNDED!)

Dear all, - I wanted to thank you for your support and for your help spreading the word about the new fantasy music project "Excalibur"! At this moment, we are 65% funded with 15 days to go, and I wanted to share with you one of the tracks from the previous CD, "Legends: Fantasy Violin" - you could stream and download it from SoundCloud at https://soundcloud.com/juliaokrusko/northern-star-julia-okrusko

Dear all,

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone on this forum who supported and helped with releasing my first CD, "Legends: Fantasy Violin"!!! The CD is now released, and I am happy to share a free download of the album title song, "Legends", with all of you - please visit http://www.fantasyviolin.com/music.html to download this track!

I am also working on the new project right now, - a new fantasy violin release "Excalibur", and I would be very grateful if you would check out the project at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/okrusko/legends-fantasy-violin-cd-and-new-single-excalibur and help spread the word about it!

Thank you very, very much for being there!!!

Julia

I didn't hear about your first project, BUT this made me look at this project. Milady, you make beautiful music and I was happy to send a few dollars in your direction after listening to your samples. This will make beautiful music to listen to when I want to relax or work on personal projects. I only wish I had such creative talent.

If you of a certain age you might remember the original red box

Anyhoo have a look here for something which intends to capture the beauty and simplicity of original D&D (complete with a red box and uninked dice and a crayon to do the inking with! ahhh memories..... )

Cheers

ps you get it all for $30 in the US or $50 international

So saith Ed. I've never said he was sane, have I?
Gods, all this writing and he's running a constant fantasy version of Coronation Street in his head, too. .
