I'm a long time D&D 2nd Ed. player who discovered this forum about a month back and have finally gotten around to shedding my lurker status in favor of becoming a member. Although I prefer to run my games in a world of my own creation (50+ pages of lore + info so far!), the conversation and vibrancy of the member base here has made this forum a great place for me to observe some great ideas and information.

I hope to get to know more of you soon enough!

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!

Welcome, Manstein. 2e was my alma mater. I spent many years puzzling over THAC0. I don't post as much as I should, but I love to talk shop. Feel free to drop me a PM if you're working something out.

Thanks for the greetings!

As for Fellfire, I think I will take you up on your offer sometime soon. One of my primary goals... or perhaps my white whale... as a DM is going back and creating a complete list of house rules / "fixes" or clarifications of the 2nd edition rules (as well as altering some of the kits listed in the Thieves and Fighter's handbook, as many of the them, especially the Thieves book, are next to useless). I love 2nd Ed. for its ability to really personalize a character and the facilitation of more RP aspects, but it can be clunky at times.
