Below is a monster from my Details series which I have compiled into one pdf which can be obtained from the link in my sig. Please provide any feedback or corrections that need to be done. Note that I do differ significantly from the Monster Compendium: Monsters of Faerun. I did this because I felt that the suggested changes to the wemic offered in that book, didn't take a accurate look at the differences between a mountain lion and a lion.

Before you crouches a creature that has the body of a mountain lion and where the neck would be, sprouts a humanoid body covered with sleek light cinnamon fur with a thick, black tipped tail. The head of the creature is that of a mountain lion with ears that have black tips.

The cougari, commonly referred to as mountain wemics, are a rare sight to see. Travelers through the Desertsmouth Mountains or the Thunder Peaks are often observed from afar by these reclusive habitants. They rarely stray from their ancestral mountain ranges, only when food becomes scare or competition from another cougarum forces them outside of their cubhood homes. They with fiercely defend their territory from encroachment by orcs, beast-men, and humans.
Cougari are usually tawny to light cinnamon in color with black-tipped ears and tails. Cougari vary in size and weight, with the males being larger than the females. Cougari are on average 5 feet in length (with a two foot long tail) and 4 feet tall and weigh an average of 190 pounds. Cougari cubs are covered with white spots which fade away at about 6 years of age, at which point they become capable hunters themselves.
Cougari are very territorial and will protect and foster growth in the herds of the game that they desperately depend on for survival. From these animals they make their weapons, clothing, and food. Although, only in the coldest temperatures does a cougarum wear tanned, fur-lined leathers.
For the most part, they hunt and fight with flint or bone tipped spears. On occasion they get an opportunity to trade furs or meat for a steel weapons. Most often cougari get forged weapons from orcs, giants, and goblins they have killed while defending their territory.

Combat
Stealth and surprise are the tactics that all cougari are taught from cubhood. They are a race that has never been great in numbers and have always been surrounded by enemies who kill for no other reason than to spill blood. Cougari attempt to avoid contact with the monsters they stay out of their territory and don’t molest the game they protect. When they harvest from the herds of deer, sheep, and goats, they use every bit of the animal before they take the life of another.
Spears are the most common weapon they use in combat and for hunting.

Cougari as Characters
As creatures that are born and raised in the wilderness far from any kind of civilization, cougari are most often rangers, barbarians, and scouts. Cougari druids worship Nobanion.
Cougarum characters posses the following traits:
• +6 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, -2 Charisma. Strong, fast, and hardy, cougari do not care much for impressing others.
• Cougarum land speed is 40 feet.
• +4 natural armor.
• Darkvision 60 feet.
• Proficient with all simple weapons and shields.
• + 8 racial bonus on Jump checks.
• Monstrous Humanoid Hit Dice: A cougarum has 3d8 racial Hit Dice. A cougarum character receives maximum hit points for the first monstrous humanoid Hit Dice normally. He rolls all Hit Dice from class levels and does not automatically get maximum hit points on his first class-level Hit Die. A cougarum’s racial Hit Dice also provide a +3 base attack bonus and saving throws of Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3. Cougari with class levels add their class attack bonus and save bonuses to their racial attack bonus and saves.
• Monstrous Humanoid Skills: A cougarum’s monstrous humanoid Hit Dice grant him skill points equal to (2 + Int modifier, minimum 1) x6. Class skills for these skill points are Climb, Hide, Jump, Listen, Move Silently, Spot, and Survival. A cougarum does not get the x4 multiplier for skill points acquired from his first class level.
• Monstrous Humanoid Feats: A cougarum’s monstrous humanoid Hit Dice grant him 2 feats. A typical cougarum chooses Alertness and Stealthy. A cougarum with class levels gains feats based on his total Hit Dice, as shown on Table 2 on page 7 of Races of Faerűn.
• Natural Attacks: Cougari can make 2 claw attacks, dealing 1d4 points of damage each. A cougarum can attack with a one-handed weapon at his normal attack bonus, and make a claw attack as a secondary attack (-5 penalty on the attack roll and half Strength bonus on the damage roll).
• Automatic Languages: Sylvan. Bonus Languages: Chondathan, Orc, Elven, Giant, and Gnome.
• Favored Class: Ranger.
• Level Adjustment: +2. Due to his 3 racial Hit Dice, his natural attacks, and his racial skill bonus, a cougarum has an effective character level of 5 plus his class levels. Thus a 5th-level cougarum ranger would have an ECL of 10. See Table 1 on page 6 of Races of Faerűn.
