Looking for more information on the location Candlekeep itself. Suggestions for sources, here or in books, modules or gaming materials is appreciated.

You should also note that there is a comparatively large description of it in FRCS but you probably already know that.

Candlekeep is covered in Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast. Ed's also discussed a little about the library in his compiled replies here. The 1e and 2e FR boxed sets also cover Candlekeep. As well, the early chapters of Ed's and Elaine's CoS novel. And DRAGON #255 -- this article is based on the treatment of Candlekeep in the Baldur's Gate CRPG, which isn't completely canonical (though the BG novels are)... the information presented in the article however is fairly decent and is likely not to be contradicted in the near future.
