Hi folks,

I do not have the adventure City of the Spider Queen, but in that adventure, there is a temple to Tyr in Dagger Falls, with a priest of pretty high level. I remember that I was very surprised when I heard of this, and that I thought it seemed like a misstake. Thus, although I do not like it, a temple of Tyr in Dagger Falls should be considered FR canon ... or, is there a chance that the temple should have been the temple of Lathander?

OK, so, if there is a temple to Tyr in Dagger Falls, who did build it, and when? How many priests of Tyr are located there.

Best regards,
Manuel

That would be nice. The questions, are wether there is a temple to Tyr in Dagger Falls, or if it was an error ... It is strange, that the temple to Lathander is not mentioned at all in the adventure ... Well, you know the drill :)

Thanks!

If you can't find him over there, then let me know.

I've chatted privately with him in the past (mostly with regard to his work on the OA tome) so I'm might be able to throw a couple of questions his way.

No, the village of Daggerford i located in the Western Heartlands, while Daggerdale in the Daleland.

I have not found any posts to James Wyatt ... Nor many City of the Spider Queens posts either.

Don't ask where this was originally came from, but could this be the place you are looking for?
The Mosque of Tyr (East of Daggerford)

EDIT: Nevermind, I don't think it is

I have managed to take a look at City of the Spider Queen, and the following is stated in page 11:

"The Lord of Daggerdale is willing to pay 5,000 gp if asked, and he promises to cover up to 5,000 gp worth of healing or other spells at the temple of Tyr in Dagger Falls if necessary."

Maybe, James Wyatt, the author, can answer ... I will check for posts hera at Candlekeep ...

OK ... 9th level ... from where did I take 15 ... well, my problem. OK, then, there is no temple of Tyr at all in Dagger Falls, but a 9th-level priest of Tyr in Dagger Falls in the service of Randal Morn ... Sounds good.

Thanks Dargoth and The Sage!

He's mentioned in Rich Baker's The Dalelands supplement. An advisor to Randal Morn, he was a 7th level priest of Tyr at the time.

He's also listed in Kuje's FR NPC file.

Tunfer the Stout is stated as a 9th level cleric and it says he is th highest level cleric in Dagger Fall

Dagger Falls gets a very short stat block form write up in COSQ

I couldnt find any reference to Tunfer the Stout or a temple dedicated to Tyr in volos guide to the Dalelands

I do not have the adventure, so I cannot say if the fellow is named Tunfer the Stout. I think the fellow I am thinking of has level 15 ... I remember that, because, I did "steal" his level and assign them to Harndarr Oryn (I have not seen official stats for Harndarr Oryn, head of Lathander's Light), making Harndarr Oryn the highest level Lathander priest that I know about.

Furthermore, I do not know if the existance of a temple of Tyr is stated in the adventure. I might have erroneously assumed that, from "City of the Spider Queen" and forward, there is a temple to Tyr. Dargoth, when you write "I cant find any reference to him or a church of Tyr in Dagger Dale", do you mean that you have checked up the "City of the Spider Queen" adventure and have verified that there is NO temple to Tyr in Dagger Falls?

You second suspicion sounds fine in my ears (better a wandering cleric, than a temple to Tyr ... at least right now ...). I could not find any levels at all in "Volo's Guide to the Dalelands" regarding Deren Eriach, the head of the Abbey of the Just Hammer. I mean, Deren should (but, not must) have a higher level than Tunfer the Stout ... and if Deren would have level 15+, then it would sound even better to have a level 15 priest sent from that temple ... but then, of cource, there could be a priest of higher level (in the temple) than the head of the temple.

I assume your refering to Tunfer the Stout under the Important people section of the Daggerdale write up.

I cant find any reference to him or a church of Tyr in Dagger Dale

I suspect one of two things

1)Its a Typo and Tunfer should be a cleric of Lathander instead of a cleric of Tyr

2) Hes Cleric of Tyr but hes alone (or at the very least hasnt set up church in Daggerdale.) He may well have been sent from the Abbey of the Just Hammer in Tassledale to ensure that Daggerdale has exchanged one tyrant for another (especially given certain members of the Morn familys lack of moral scruples)
