So it's not a D&D Core product, but we don't have a "Not WotC/TSR but still D&D" section... And besides, what is more core to D&D than the dudes who created it?

If you wanted miniatures of D&D co-creators Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, now's your chance! These two miniatures feature on the cover of Jon Peterson's new book, Game Wizards: The Epic Battle for Dungeons & Dragons, and now you can have them for $12.99!

And the link to the page where you can buy the minis: Game Wizards Gary and Dave 28mm minis

I am not at all a minis person, and I don't hold the same reverence for Gary Gygax that a lot of D&D players do (and I'm irked by the way Dave Arneson is usually shunted off to the side and ignored)... But I'm still tempted to get these.

-Gygax has a knife behind his back waiting to stab Arneson (I can't take credit for that one, I saw the comment on the linked forum).

It's possible. The minis are associated with a book about the early days of TSR, and from what I've read, Arneson and Gygax weren't exactly chummy after D&D took off.

No, they were watching you, that's the weird feeling you got. These are actually clairvoyance sensors if you cast detect magic on them.

I think a Gygax fig which emulates that appearance would be a more fitting homage.

From the page, the idea was that the figures of Arneson and Gygax would look as they did in the 70's, when they created D&D.

Not for me.

Now if it was Ed and THO *purring-growl* I'd be all over that.
