I'm a little confused as to why this epic PrC has this name. A Wight is a terrible, vicious undead creature that neither turns incorporeal or into shadow.

So why the silly name? A player in our gaming group wants to take this PrC and I'm thinking of changing the name to The Perfect Shadow. That would seem to fit better for what the PrC offers as a grandmaster Thief.

Any ideas??

Tough right? lol.

After reading the class over many times, I have come to the conclusion that the description it gives is that of a ultimate master thief, Not a rogue per-se, but a specialist in remaining in shadow and passing through all materials except force effects without hesitation.

Cat Burglar omega.

Read for yourself and let me know what you think.

The Perfect Wight. https://www.realmshelps.net/charbuild/classes/prestige/epic/perfectwight.shtml

I mean, you need to be a 20'th level Rogue to even take this class pretty much. Unless you find some alternative way to meet the Sneak Attack requirement. lol.

Given that description, I'd go for something like Unseen Blade or Shrouded Knife or Lurking Shadow or something like that. Seems more evocative than "Perfect" anything, IMO.

I do like Lurking Shadow.

For what it is worth

Yes... again, the PrC has nothing to do with a wight. It is geared towards rogue/Thief types. Living Rogue/Thief types.

Yes...check the very first definition. Definitely living not undead

I know right. The actual undead creature shouldn't be considered a Wight by the IRL definition. lol. So the Epic PRC name is even more ludicrous, right? lmao. The entire class definition of a Perfect Wight is hardcore geared towards the Thief aspect of the Rogue class. Not so much sneak attacking or attacking at all, period. lol.

The epic PRC tends to go for remaining unseen. A deathly quiet shadow that can go incorporeal and pass through almost all barriers even magical, except for Force effects. A Grandmaster Thief for all intents and purposes. Not a sneak attacking rogue.

I've been pulling my hair out thinking of a cool name that fits the Epic PrC and makes sense, lol. I mean... this is a purely epic PrC from the Epic Handbook itself. I'm just struggling with re-naming it, because The Perfect Wight is too ludicrous to call it that. lol.

My Choices so far...

Grandmaster Thief
Perfect Shadow
Barrier Master (kinda don't like that name)
Unbound Prowler
Invisible Thief
Shadow Thief

I am personally going for Grandmaster Thief as my first pick, with Unbound Prowler as my second choice.

Anyone care to give more suggestions?

Perfect Shadow is fine, or Perfect Stalker (as in Invisible Stalker monster), and you basically stalk your enemy in invisibility. It's certainly an odd name about an undead creature that is rather vanilla otherwise.

Perfect Wight does seem like an odd name for a class, especially if it's geared toward rogues.

I am unfortunately not familiar with the class, so I can't offer anything more than this: I don't care for "perfect" as part of the name of any class... Primal Shadow or something like that, maybe, but again, I don't know the class in question.
