In part, this was inspired by some of the unique abilities I was dreaming up for my version of Velsharoon before his godhood. I sprinkled in a bit of Agent of the Grave and voila!

Note that this might be OP. I wasn't satisfied with the True Necromancer, and the Master Specialist emphasized too much on undead and less on everything else of arcane necromancy.

------------------------------------------------------------

From his seat in that moldering volcanic necropolis of Death's Embrace, the Lich-Lord Velsharoon whispers black secrets of necromancy to wizards throughout the Realms. Those lucky few favored by the Archmage of Necromancy find these whispers to be more than just brief moments of insight; instead, they represent a stepping stone to untold pinnacles of necromantic power.

Requirements
To qualify to become a Seeker of the Seven Truths, a character must fulfill all the following criteria:

Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 5 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 5 ranks, Spellcraft 5 ranks.
Feats: Greater Spell Focus (necromancy), Spell Focus (necromancy).
Spells: Ability to cast 3rd-level arcane or divine spells, must know at least six necromancy spells, cannot have necromancy as an opposed school
Special: Must have either the channel energy class feature, the school power class feature, or a bloodline power with daily uses as a class feature.
Patron: Velsharoon

Class Skills
The Seeker of the Seven Truths’s class skills (and the key abilities for each skill) are Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), Knowledge (history) (Int), Knowledge (the planes), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Spellcraft (Int), Use Magic Device (Cha).
Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + Int modifier.

The Seeker of Seven Truths TABLE 1:1
Level	Attack	Fort	Ref	Will	Special	Spellcasting
1st	0	0	0	2	Thanatologist, Secret of Undead Command	+1 level of existing spellcasting class
2nd	1	0	0	3	Secret of Negative Energy	+1 level of existing spellcasting class
3rd	1	1	1	3	Secret of Life-Draining	+1 level of existing spellcasting class
4th	2	1	1	4	Secret of Stolen Strength, Inspired Necromancy +1 level of existing spellcasting class
5th	2	1	1	4	Secret of the Soul	+1 level of existing spellcasting class
6th	3	2	2	5	Secret of Death +1 level of existing spellcasting class
7th	3	2	2	5	Secret of the Everlasting +1 level of existing spellcasting class

Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Seekers of the Seven Truths gain no proficiency with any weapons or armor.

Spells per Day/Spells Known
When a new Seeker of the Seven Truths level is gained, the character gains new spells as if he had also gained a level in a spellcasting class he belonged to before adding the prestige class. He does not, however, gain other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for additional spells per day, spells known (if he is a spontaneous spellcaster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting. If the character has more than one spellcasting class before becoming an Seeker of the Seven Truths he must decide which class he adds the new level to for the purpose of determining spells per day.

Thanatologist (Ex) At 1st level, the Seeker of the Seven Truths gains a +1 bonus to the DC and caster level of his necromancy spells, and the DC of his channeled negative energy. At 7th level, this bonus increases by +1.

Secret of Undead Command At 2nd level, the Seeker of Seven Truths gains Command Undead as a bonus feat, using the sum of his primary spellcasting class plus his Seeker level. If he already has Command Undead, then he can expend an additional use of his Command Undead ability to halve the channel resistance of the undead he is attempting to affect with the ability.

Secret of Negative Energy At third level, the Seeker of Seven Truths learns to tap into the Negative Energy Plane to power his spells. He may convert the damage from any spell with the force, sonic, cold, ice, fire, or acid subtype to instead inflict negative energy damage by expending a use of his command undead, school power or bloodline power ability at the moment of casting. He can only choose one ability to expend; i.e. if he uses his school power ability, he cannot expend a use of his command undead ability when he wishes to use this secret a second time.

Secret of Life-Draining At 4th level, when the Seeker of Seven Truths inflicts a negative level through his necromancy spells, he can expend a use of his command undead, school power or bloodline power at the moment of casting to be treated as an undead creature, gaining a +1 bonus on skill checks, ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws, and 5 temporary hp, for 1 hour. Additionally, he can expend an additional use to drain one of his victim’s highest level spells from its mind and gain the ability to cast that spell once (as if he had prepared it). Treat the spell's effect as if it had been cast by the character who prepared it (including caster level, save DC, and so forth).

Secret of Stolen Strength At 5th level, by expending a use of his command undead, school power or bloodline power when he casts a necromancy spell that deals ability damage or drain, a Seeker of Seven Truths gains a profane bonus to his own relevant ability score equal to one half the damage dealt. Multiple castings do not stack, only the highest bonus applies.

Inspired Necromancy At 4th level, the Seeker of Seven Truths gains new insights into the dark arts of necromancy. At the time he gains this ability, the character may add a number of necromancy spells that are not normally a part of his class’s spell list to his spell list. The number of spells that the character may add is equal to his Intelligence modifier. For example, a Seeker of Seven Truths with levels of wizard might choose to add spells like death watch, inflict critical wounds, and slay living to his spell list, while one with levels of cleric might choose to add spells such as enervation, magic jar, and vampiric touch. A Seeker of Seven Truths may choose to add spells he cannot yet cast—this does not allow him to cast spells of a higher level than he normally could, but rather merely grants him access to those spells when he reaches the level required to cast them.

Secret of the Soul At 5th level, the Seeker of Seven Truths begins to understand the intricacies of soul magic. By expending a a use of his command undead, school power or bloodline power with a soul gem in hand, he can can cast speak with dead on the soul therein. Additionally, when casting magic jar, you are free to use your target creature's extraordinary, supernatural and spell-like abilities otherwise normally prohibited by the spell.

Secret of Death When casting a necromancy spell against a creature naturally immune to the effect, such as suffocation on a creature that does not breathe, the Seeker of Seven Truths can expend a use of his school power to make a caster level check against the creature’s CR as per greater dispel magic, except that the caster level check is equal to his necromantic caster level. If successful, he suppresses the creature’s immunity for one round per class level. Thanatopic effects gain a +2 bonus to caster level and save DC on creatures affected by this ability.

Secret of the Everlasting At 7th level, the Seeker's pursuit of necromancy has allowed him to embrace a twisted form of immortality. He gains his Seeker level as a bonus on any ability check, skill check, or saving throw related to the process of transforming into an undead creature. If he is already an undead creature, then he gains his Seeker level as a bonus to any ability check, skill check, or saving throw required to gain the advanced template, as adjudicated by the DM.

---------------------------------------------

Quick and dirty conversion to 3.5e:

Skills: 8 ranks in each
Requirements: rebuke undead or specialized in necromancy or undead bloodline

Secret of Undead Command: Rebuke undead as a cleric of your primary class plus your seeker level. If you can already rebuke undead, you can expend an extra use to halve turn resistance.

Anything that requires daily school powers/bloodline powers becomes 3+Int mod or 3+Cha mod, depending on your base class.

In that case, pretty good. That would fit as there are no level or ability requirements. I would throw down a Mummy Lord Wizard/ Favored Soul/ Seeker of the 7 to fight my PC's indeed. Actually... a Mummy Lord is absolutely perfect for this PrC. good job.

The only issue I see is in the requirements.

Knowledge: religion, arcana and spellcraft are only 5 ranks each, yet you also need Greater Spell focus as a feat?

I would make the ranks in those skills higher if Greater Spell focus is a mandatory. Otherwise, pretty good. I'd give it a go with a elven Vampire Sorcerer/ Cleric/ Thaumaturgist.

Pretty much.

Master Specialist doesn't play up to an arcane necromancer's strengths, which is kind of sad. I always thought that a master specialist necromancer should be so good with necromancy spells that death ward and undeath just make finger of death marginally easier to save against.

Clerics already get the undeath prestige classes, so wizards get the death magic part.

Is this class supposed to be the necromancy counterpart to Initiate of the Seven Veils?
