Well met!

I ran AD&D campaigns in the Realms back in the day (80s and 90s) with a group of guys in college and afterwards. Really enjoyed it. Only played one short 3.5 ed campaign (not in Realms), and pretty much skipped 4th ed. However, I did pick up the 4th ed Neverwinter Campaign guide, and fell in love with it!

Anyway, when 5th ed came out, I bought the starter set and we tried it out. It only took one session and we all knew that we found our version of D&D that fit our style the best. I was really enjoying the realms lore associated with the adventure (The Ghost of Coynberry, The Old Owl Well, etc.) so we all decided we would buy the books (PHB, MM and DMG) and start a campaign based in Neverwinter. Due to distances between us and family lives, we only meet once every few months for 12 hour gaming sessions. The party is close to level 5 at the moment and are currently under Helms Hold trying to rescue Brother Satarin from the clutches of a Young Green Dragon who believes he is an elven wizard (go figure!).

In any event, I browsed the forums here and found the members to be very helpful and chocked full of great knowledge and lore about the Realms. I hope you all dont' mind if I come here now and then if I need some inspiration in my Realms campaign. Again, we love the new edition of D&D and are really digging exploring the Realms again!

Welcome to Candlekeep!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!

As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
