I red about him in the GHOTR and found the entry about him, and that sparked my interest. I am planning to present him as an background story for an epic NPC (my NPC to be his apprentice). Any Cannon lore on him?
The only clue i got from a quick search in our scrolls was that he was mortaly wounded by orcs.

All NPC wizards in 4e (note NPC) get the artillery role. Look at Szass Tam in the CG. He's also artillery. ;)

Thanks for your interest and your responses everyone! I DLed the Netheril sourcebook (they made some great sourcebooks at that time :-)
I also liked Markustay's idea, it would be nice having someone real powerfull to guard the flow of time, Chronomancy is a somewhat forbidden art in my campaign.

Yeah, so it seems, though unlike in 4e where WotC gives you only a few select NPCs I actually gave you a lot more.

I don't know what edition you play but it gives 4E stats about the chronomancer.

Well, those stats of mine actually give no information at all about him. It's just crunch without fluff.

I find that the 'Father of Temporal magics' got wounded and "ran out of time" a little suspect.

Note that there is a mysterious figure in the Chronomancer sourcebook who seems to "run things from the shadows" (actually maintaining the timestream). This mysterious , unknown personage is never named... but just look at the title of the source.

The again, maybe he just faked his own death and is flying around in a Police call-box picking-up young girls all over the timestream.

Elminster would approve.

there is a 2e Chronomancer book that may be useful

And the Netheril set is of course available as a free download from the Wizards downloads page.

Jeriah died from injuries he sustained during his attempt to save ancient Illusk from an ogre-led orc horde.

And the bits about the Chronomancer in "The Winds of Netheril" booklet of the Netheril boxed set are pretty much the only detailed source on him.

According to Netheril: Empire of Magic, he was an arcanist (lvl 26, lawful neutral) of the Golden age who earned his name after he created his first time-oriented spell. He was concerned with appearance and aging , claiming it to be a curse of the gods. He died from a massive orc assault, refusing any healing from the gods.

Netheril: Empire of Magic has probably the most complete information about him.
