potentially interesting article and one that gives me more hope for sticking with DDI to see how things progress. I am still diggin the Dragon and Dungeon magazine content, as well as the full version of the Character builder, but I want more realms. Hopefully the major realms city to be covered in the near future will be Waterdeep, but I would base my bet more on Baldur's Gate.

Check it out

Yes, excellent Article Brian.

I'm not sure. Take a look at the racial powers you get (Dragonborn's breath weapon, etc.). The damage and other stats do go up when you hit 'milestones'.

I recall reading somewhere that they have long since scrapped that idea.

Well, designers are bound to change their minds at least some of the time. Perhaps the design decision you are talking about (not sure what you mean off the top of my head) turned out to be a bad idea in practice.

From what I've heard on the WotC boards, they are promising at least one article a month in Dungeon and Dragon on the Realms and Eberron (each). Of course, my question is will the one article a month continue when the third setting is released in 2010?

They were, as I recall, promising us that pretty much from the get-go. And then these articles didn't show up.

So what you are saying is that the Setting that will be done next by them will be The land of Empty Promises?

All joking aside, if we compared the promises they made to the ones they kept, I think you'd find U.S. Congressman have a better running record.

I was really looking forward to the leveling based on race we were promised when they made the 4e announcment... I'm still waiting for that one...

That's been a matter of some discussion on the WotC boards as well, O Wooly One.

Also the fact that they are going to START the 'one article a month' in May. So, you still have to wait three months.

Honestly, I've given up on WotC, for the moment. Before the pay-only DDI was implemented, I checked multiple parts of their website, daily, for new material. Now I don't bother -- most of the free DDI stuff didn't impress me, and I wasn't even sure it was worth the price then. I was also keeping an idea on Rich Baker's thread, but I got disgusted with that, too, and quit checking it.

If they want me to pay for one article a month, they either need to blow me away with that one article, or drop the price. It's been said before, but the all-or-nothing approach to DDI is not ideal for a lot of us, and I'd rather keep my money than pay for stuff I've no use for or interest in.
