Checking at my local comic store (where I also buy my D&D books), I found a comic rack filled with the old Forgotten Realms comic series-- issues #1-14 and the Annual. And with the low price of $1.00 Canadian per issue, I feel as though it's a steal!!

To those who have read and/or own the issues, is it worth it?

Here's what's been announced so far, with writers where you might know them:

Issue #3 (out next week, I believe)
Realms: "Elminster at the Magefair" part 1 of 2 (script by Jeff Grubb)
Ravenloft: "The Rigor of the Game" (script by James Lowder)

Issue #4:
Realms: "Elminster at the Magefair" part 2 of 2 (script by Jeff Grubb)
Dragonlance: "A Stone's Throw Away" part 1 of 2 (script by Stan!)

Issue #5:
Dragonlance: "A Stone's Throw Away" part 2 of 2 (script by Stan!)
Eberron: "The Weight of Water"

Issue #6:
Realms: "Guenhwyvar"
Ravenloft: "Caretaker" (script by P.N. Elrod)

Issue #7:
Dragonlance: "Raistlin and the Knight of Solamnia"
Dark Sun: "Hunt's End"

Issue #8 will have another Realms story in it, scripted by the original author.

Cheers,
Jim

Good list. I like the inclusion of a Dark Sun story. Hopefully, I'll see the Greater Treasure in their somewhere

I picked up issue 2 of WoD&D last week. I was expecting not to like it, but I really did. I'm really looking forward to Elminster at the Magefair btw.

The first trade should be out before too long. I'm writing a foreword for it. As soon as we have an ETA for publication, I'll let the board know. The third issue, which has the first half of Jeff Grubb's adaptation of "Elminster at the Magefair," should be off to the printer pretty quickly, too.

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for the info Jim and good luck with this

The first issue sold well. The second issue is at the printer and should be ready soon. After that, the issues should be coming out more regularly (meaning the trades will, too).

Cheers,
Jim

Agreed! I can't wait to get my hands on these. I am really excited about the Cale story as well. I've been impressed with the art in these DDP comics so far.

Issue #3 has been solicited, and you can see the cover for the Realms story here (it's the first of a two-part adaptation of a story that was mentioned already as one you wanted to see):
