I'll admit, I prefer a more full-featured web enhancement, myself. But given the information in this thread, I don't think we can really knock this WE. Besides, nothing says there won't be a later one that has more material in it...

True, but the one product we been told that will have a 2nd WE, we have been waiting forever on, and still nada though.

But yeah, definately a good aid for running the adventure.

Guesss whats in it...... The stats for every creature in the module!

Unbelievable

Actually, this is apparently referenced in the module, and those running it have been specifically requesting it. Clicky.

And I agree with Wooly, where is our 2nd Waterdeep WE.

And where's our second WE for City of Splendors: Waterdeep?

I checked out that WE when I got to work, and I was disappointed to see that that's all it was. But if people were asking for it, and it was referenced within the module, then I'll not complain.

Without having read the RHoD yet Im considering th following

The Dragons camped out on the ruins of Witch Kings castle have bred with the Goblinoids of Vaasa and created a large number of Half Dragon/Dragonic humanoids. One of the Half Dragons (Azaar Kul) is a Cleric of Tiamat and Tiamat has commanded him to raise an army of Dragonkind and march on Damara (Tiamat has an Axe to grind with Damara as its ruler killed one of her avatars when he destroyed the wand of Orcus)Azaar has been busy raising his army of Draonkind for several years and it has reached a size where they dont have enough resources to feed it so the Army of Tiamat has begun taking over more of Vaasa driving its inhabitants south into the Moonsea region (Including the Orcs from Sons of Gruumsh)

The towns and cities in RHoD could be in Damara

This could be the Fortress at the Vaasa end of Bloodstone pass

I'm definitely intrigued by this. I'm going to have to pick up Red Hand of Doom tomorrow and see if there is anything in there that really doesn't mesh well with the Moonsea.

EDIT due to quote formatting error

I guess I'll have to find a new module or try to adapt this one. Athough I find my free-time that could be used adapting modules runs thinner and thinner by the day.

You guys keep joking about this, and I keep telling you . . . my friend named his son Tanis . . . he has another one on the way, and we have been playing FR for a year now, so I'm hoping for a more Torillian name this time. Not sure how his wife feels about that though.

(and NO, I'm not considering Fzoul for a name..... it's a girl, so Scyllua is an option though)
-obviously joking...at least I hope it's obvious!

Channath Vale, not Chondath.

It lies between the Shaar and Halruaa, east of the Wyrmbones. The map is an exact match.

We could then collate a "Using <generic module name> in the Realms" style articles to aid other DM's

Please post thy comments etc. herein, or feel free to email\PM me.

Now, if it was FR-specific...

Hell give it to her as a Valentines day present!

After all theres nothing more Romantic than a module about a horde of bloodthirsty Dragon Worshiping Hobgoblins!

With your name written inside the front cover? (in the spirit of Homer Simpson's "bowling ball gifts" to Marge ;)

I believe Rich said it could very easily be dropped into the Great Dale area.

Nope, Rich said it could easily drop in the Channath Vale area. That's down in the Shining South, between the Shaar and Halruaa.

--Eric

Thanks Eric, I knew it was an area that wasn't used much, just aimed at the wrong direction.
Dargoth Posted - 11 Feb 2006 : 23:18:46
Given the modules focus on Dragons in General and Tiamat in particular I reckon Unther, The North East Moonsea or even Chessenta would have made better Realms locations for Red Hand of doom
Arnwyn Posted - 11 Feb 2006 : 22:44:12
Thanks Eric!

I was just about to ask where in FR this is best located, because I do remember reading that the designers had an FR location 'in mind' when doing the geography for this adventure.

At first blush, it looked like it was in the Shining South, near Lake Lhespen ("Lake Rhestin" in the module) - looks like I was right. Cool!

It looks pretty good on my first skim-through.

The WotC listing on it is lacking in that information.

Looks like a great module, based on a first read.

Takes you from 6-12.

Thanks Eric, looks like I'll be grabbing this then, run my players through it then right to CotSQ.
Will have to do some adaptations, since the party is based in the North, but should be doable with some work.
