Hi,
Please place this post where it belongs ...
I read in page 34 of City of Splendors: Waterdeep (CoS) that the leader of the city guard is "general Obryn Ironfist, son of Arn, blood of Turgo, of the Forlorn Hills of Dardath". My second thought was that the name of the clan is Ironfist ... but, I seam to be misstaken. Ironfist might just be a common nickname ... although this Obryn is a descendant of "Turgo Ironfist". Maybe, this Obryn is just a clanless dwarf ...
Still, it is diffucult to known wether Ironfist is a nickname (qualifier) or a clan name.
I would strict write as follows, to be clear about the distinction ...
Nickname (qualifier) Variant
Obryn 'Ironfist', son of Arn, blood of Turgo, of the Forlorn Hills of Dardath
Clan Name Variant
Obryn Ironfist, son of Arn, blood of Turgo, of the Forlorn Hills of Dardath |

Other than the 1E sourcebook FR11 Dwarves Deep, ther isn't much information in specific clans, leaders of clans etc. I don't have that source in front of me but Clan Ironfist doesn't ring a bell in terms of the 'known' clans of the dwarves. In which source is Clan Ironfist mentioned? Whatever, the source it is unlikely that the clan leader has been detailed, so you have free rein to make up what you want here.
