My group is preparing to journey from Hellgate Keep to Reitheillaethor.

Circa 1372.

I want to make this journey interesting, however there is little in the way of locations (that I can find) in this part of the High Forest.

I would like to explore Elvenport and anything else interesting.

We will be spending some time with the elves in Reitheillaethor and then investigating the Nameless Dungeon (where the group will then discover that the daemonfey have escaped).

Are there any maps of Reitheillaethor?

Best sources of information? (besides Eric's unpublished masterpiece )

I do have a list of notable NPCs, but as always looking for more to flesh this out.

Also any information that area of the High Forest (interesting locations, encounters, etc) is MUCH appreciated.

Thank you scribes!

Late reply, but I've been diving in lore for Reitheillaethor to find out what has happened to it in the century between your game and OutofTheAbyss (2016). The fandom realms entry mentions defenses being overrun when the place gets ||expletive||'d by fae dae' and orcs.

I'm thinking about taking this one cleric NPC and leaving them standing around in the ruins northeast of the Dire Woods.
Anyone have info on a Jaementhe wood elf cleric of Solonor?

Edit: Thanks for the link click! Update: The party used an animal messenger that is going south-west to the nearest town. Still debating if I want that cleric to do something.. Perhaps they will simply spy on and visit the party. That could be fun..

Reitheillaethor
On the banks of the Heartblood River, near its northernmost bend, lies a large, well-defended village of wood elves. The Fair Folk come and go as they please, and so over the course of seasons many new faces appear while familiar ones vanish, seeking new dwelling places elsewhere in the forest. The elves of Reitheillaethor (pronounced rye-thigh-way-eh-thor) vigorously patrol the eastern portion of the forest and keep a wary eye on the Dire Wood to the west.
Notable clans with a large presence in the village include Clan Bloodthorn, Clan Shadowed Sun, Clan Silverbark, and Clan Weirsong.

Clan Bloodthorn
Corara: Saaryntara Graymantle (NG female wood elf ranger 5 totemic demonslayerDra354 3 [Rillifane Rallathil])
Quessel: Alynyx “the Horned” Redhart (N male werestag wood elf favored soulPH2 4 [Rillifane Rallathil])
Tribal Rune: Drop of blood falling from rose and thorn
Territory: Clan Bloodthorn occupies the eastern High Forest, due north of the Stone Circle of the Stag. Many members of the clan have relocated to the village of Reitheillaethor.
Notes: Clan Bloodthorn earned its moniker from battles between the clan and bloodthornFF plants infesting the northwestern edge of the Grayshadow Woods, just outside the boundaries of the mantle of the Hamagess. Many warriors of this clan are totemic demonslayers (see page 19), dedicated to the destruction of Abyssal horrors that still plague the High Forest.

Clan Shadowed Sun
Corar: Raergarth Delimtor (CG male wood elf ranger 5 totemic demonslayerDra354 4 [Rillifane Rallathil])
Quessela: Haeliira Shiningwaters (CG female wood elf cleric 7 [Rillifane Rallathil])
Tribal Rune: Stylized shadowtop tree largely blocking a stylized sun
Territory: Clan Shadowed Sun occupies the eastern reaches of the High Forest west of Karscragg. The region is known for its Shadowtop trees, for which the clan is named. Many members of the clan have relocated to the village of Reitheillaethor.
Notes: Clan Shadowed Sun has long battled the horrors of the Grayshadow Woods, developing powerful arcane magic to battle the shadow demons that stalk (or at least did stalk) the depths. Many warriors of this clan are totemic demonslayers (see page 19), dedicated to the destruction of Abyssal horrors that still plague the High Forest.

Clan Silverbark
Corar: Waerinthaer Stonemoss (NG male wood elf ranger 6 [Rillifane Rallathil])
Quessela: Hiira Bendingbough (NG female wood elf druid 7 [Rillifane Rallathil])
Tribal Rune: Silverbark leaf (deep red, large, oval leaf with a pointed tip, tiny saw-toothed edges, and a purple base)
Territory: Clan Silverbark occupies the southeastern reaches of the High Forest, in the woodlands north and west of Farsilver. A small fraction of the tribe has relocated to the village of Reitheillaethor, but the majority still wander the woodlands.
Notes: Clan Silverbark has long harvested sap from groves of silverbark trees, brewing natural antitoxins for many poisons and venoms which they then trade with neighboring clans.

Clan Weirsong
Corar: Tellyndaar Brightstar (N male wood elf sorcerer 7)
Quessel: None
Tribal Rune: Stylized depiction of a weirwood tree, split by a lightning bolt
Territory: Forest north of Karse and the Dire Wood. Some members of the clan have relocated to the village of Reitheillaethor.
Notes: Clan Weirsong’s longtime Corar and Quessl were killed during the Battle of Daelyth’s Dagger, leaving the relatively young and untested corar’s son to inherit the mantle of leadership. Fascinated by the Art of House Kerymrual, Tellyndaar has increasingly allied himself with that house’s dark archmage, Lord Eroan Kerymrual (see page 161), who seeks personal allies amidst the wood elves of the Caerilcarn.

I love it!!

I would also imagine a few Lythari elves to live in or around Reitheillaethor. Also, I noticed most of your copper elves worship Rillifane. What about Solonor Thelandira, Fenmarel Mestarine or Shevarash? Any NPC's of those deities?

Sosiiwyn "Howler" Redfang: CN male Lythari elf of Reitheillaethor. CR 20; Ranger 10/ Dervish 10. Sosiiwyn is the only permanent residing Lythari elf in Reitheillaethor. Know as "The Howler" for his seemingly endless howling during a new moon. He stands at 6 and a half feet tall and is somewhat different from his Lythari kin in the High Forest, as he prefers to be with the other sub-races of the elves as opposed to his own kind. A brilliant duel-wielding swordsman in elf form, and a absolute terror in wolf form, he actively seeks out evil denizens of the forest to hunt and slay.

The Fey'ri that inhabit the ancient ruins of Elvenport have put out a large bounty to anyone who can bring them his head, as he favors them as an enemy. Well loved and respected in Reitheillaethor for his merrymaking and ability to drink most copper elves under the table. He is a prankster and enjoys playing tricks on any elf with a title of authority. Some say he is a follower of Erevan Ilesere, but these are simply rumors gossiped among the younger copper elves of the community.

Cyrestra Bloodflower: CG Lythari elf female of Nithrithyinae. CR 25; Ranger 10/ Favored Soul 15 of Solonor Thelandira. Cyrestra is a tall, otherworldly beautiful woman that is the current pack leader of the Lythari elves in The High Forest. She rules the clan with love and the joy of the hunt, often taking her entire clan to Reitheillaethor once a month to seek out any elf who may wish to join them in the hunt.
Unlike most Lythari, her clan blatantly hunts down evil humanoids all throughout the High Forest during the full moon. This event is known to the copper elves of Reitheillaethor as "The great hunt of the Silver Shadows".

Greythorn: CG Werewolf Lythari elf Fey male of Nithrithyinae. CR 20; Duskblade 10/ Wildrunner 10. Greythorn was attacked by a werewolf as a child and infected with that particular form of lycanthropy. He is unique among the Lythari elves in that he can change into a Hybrid form, unlike all other Lythari elves. He is feral and aloof in disposition. Quick to anger and just as quick to act on his anger, he is held in check by his clan alone. Trained by a legendary Duskblade of Evereska when he was young, and a naturally gifted Wildrunner, he frequently changes between his Lythari wolf form, elf form, and Hybrid werewolf form during combat. As he is the most feral and ferocious of his clan, he often stays a few miles away from Nithrithyinae stalking around the ruined city for weeks alone on rampages against evil creatures in the area. During the full moon he is always drawn to The Dire Wood in Werewolf form and erupts into a horrifying killing spree against all undead in sight. Wielding sword and spell in werewolf form, Greythorn is compelled to hunt down vampires, liches, ghast lords and other intelligent, powerful undead beings. Prefering to use his natural weapons of tooth, claw and foot over his sword and spell, he is brutal and vicious and feral in his frenzied attacks within The Dire Wood. It is rumored by the elves of the forest that he hunts for the Death Knight Jhingleshod within the ruins of Karse. Those few copper elf rangers and scouts that have followed Greythorn into the Dire Wood have reported a terrifying account of horror as the Lythari elf transformed into a large, nine foot tall beastial werewolf casting killing spells and wielding twin enchanted longswords made entirely out of Black Dragon bone. The Lythari horror would often sheath his swords and let out a Primal Howl as his muzzle snapped open supernaturally wide for a werewolf and his fangs and claws would grow larger. Bursting into a unimaginable frenzy of teeth and claws with such ferocity and power that the elven rangers and scouts that had followed him into the Dire Wood were aghast at his display of carnal fury against such powerful undead as mummies, vampires, packs of ghouls led by ghast lords, and worse.

The carnage in Greythorn's wake is legendary among the copper elves of Reitheillaethor during the full moon.

Yes! I was hoping you would see this topic!

Any tidbits on the village itself, or the forest around it?

I'm hoping for more juicy details.

Not have much luck searching through 6 years of "So Saith Ed" threads.

Unless they have some druid or Wood Elf to vouch for their good behaviour and promise to babysit the rest, or are on a mission from Alustriel and the local elves were notified and sent someone to meet them, the first complication is obvious.
Turlang stomps out of the woods, looms over the party and tells them he doesn't trust them, so they may well start walking back whence they came from. Now, negotiate it.
Or a bunch of the local elves, only with less chat and more warning shots.
To think of it, this can happen even if they are expected, should they fail at navigation and not meet the welcome committee first.

Basics were in Savage Frontier, more in The North, 3.x stuff in Silver Marches (but its quality is dubious).
If you want extras on High Forest, as usual, "So saith Ed" archive got some juicy bits. Terrain clarifications are in "(2010-2016)" issue.
There's Green Regent Archive. Some interesting bits probably made their way into that campaign, but it's RPGA stuff and of somewhat later era.
