Is there a boat activity on the Ashaba river?

I intend my players to go to Mistledale but the movement calculation is almost 10 days (trail in light forest). Going south/west of the woods is nearly as long, so I'm looking for an alternative.

Let's say from Freedale. I guess the land is rather flat, so there might be a way to take a small barge or row boat, following the current, at least to Elven Crossing...

Any help welcome.

I would imagine so.

But as I am no expert, this link might help: http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/River_Ashaba
