Okay so a search yielded nothing on this 2nd-tier noble family from Cormyr. Anyone have any information on them? I'll even take homebrew stuff if it's good (I'm looking at you Jeremy Grenemeyer).

Quite bizarrely i was looking at Calandor in my history document (i searched on Calan so it cropped up a few times) and wondered if they could have moved to Cormyr. The dates match up with them being mentioned around 900 DR which is 400 years before 1360 DR.

In "my Realms" (a very eclectic place to be sure!) the Calantars of Cormyr are descended from a family from Phalorm who fled the Duchy of Calandor (which was also rendered Calantor), settling in Cormyr in the time of Galaghard II and providing service in his fight against his rebellious sons, becoming ennobled by the subsequent King Draxius (who of course was Galaghard I the whole time).

Of course, Ed or Brian may have something entirely different in mind!:)

The name of the family is Calantar (no 'h'), which would explain the lack of data. There is a small amount in 'After the Dragon' and Death of the Dragon about members of this family, who are, yes, descended from the Calantar of Calantar's Way/Bridge/Gate.

Well whats the point of archiving everything written in all the sourcebooks about a region if you come up with zip when someone asks a question.

I checked my Cormyr document (collected from the cormyr sourcebook, volos guide, campaign guides and Ed and candlekeep musings). I got zip.

I checked my various settlements documents (collected from the sourcebooks above plus the FR Adventures sourcebooks). I got zip.

I checked surrounding areas like the Dragon Coast, Dalelands, Sembia, even the Fire Knives. I got zip.

The only thing that might be even slightly related is Calantar's Way near Arabel (which contains Calantar Gate as well) built 400 years ago by a man of the same name so he may have founded the Calanthar family or maybe not.

I can't believe i've got nothing on them.
