I can't help but see that the old adage "art imitates life" seems to be apparent in here. Also, what's your thoughts on the Falconfar Saga? How does Ed's worldbuilding here compare to his work with the Realms?

I could be mistaken, but I believe the publication of the Falconfar books predates 4E.

Sure. The hero is a novelist those fantasy setting falls into the hands of Holdoncorp. At the same time, his dreams of the fantasy setting--Falconfar--begin to feature darker, more violent villains. The hero eventually goes to Falconfar, is a Darklord, and has to free it from the tyrannical control of the other Darklords. I couldn't help but be reminded of when WOTC forced more darkness upon the Realms. I wondered if this trilogy wasn't a response to the 4th ed changes to the Realms.

Perhaps you could expand on this, and offer some explanation?
