Posted - 04 Aug 2003 : 21:56:30 Hello all! I have a few questions to you. Since i never played d&d on p&p, all i know concerning the rules, is based on some manuals and the game series Baldurs Gate.
First question is, what is the maximum lvl allowed for a pc?( all to subject 2ed rules because 3ed rules i dont like at all)
2) What are high lvl spells for mages and clerics , the ones above lvl 9 spells btw lvl 7 spells?
3) why arent lvl 10 spells possibly since the fall of netheril?
4) are lvl 50 rules on a single class possible(with all positive effects? for example 9 lvl 9 spells at lvl 50 mage?)or would my pc with lvl 50 be a demi god?
5)which high lvl mage spells are based purely on magic damage except magic missile and abi's dazzims horrid wilthing?
6)which high lvl mage spells are based purely on cold damage except ice storm and cone of cold?
7)in my thinking there are too much related fire damage based spells like fireball, agannars sorcery, flame arrow, sunray, false dawn, delayed fireball, incendiary cload, skull trap, meteor strike, dragons breath, comet and the ones i forgot now.
8) direct death spells like death, finger of deat, symbol death, power word death are in high lvls nearly unusable or are i am there mistaken?
9) if i compare god btw goddess in 2ed rules, for example loth: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lolth's Avatar (Cleric 33, Mage 31, Fighter 20) Lolth can appear as a giant black widow spider with crimson eyes, or she can change into the form of a human-sized, exquisitely beautiful female drow. In this form she often clothes herself entirely in clinging spiders, but sometimes wearing drow chain mail styled into artful dresses or tunics. She can also combine the two forms, appearing as a giant spider with a coldly beautiful female drow head. This is the form in which she is usually found in the Abyss, and it is thought to be her true form. Lolth can call on any sphere or school of magic for her spells. AC -2 (drow) or -4 (spider); MV 15 (drow) or 9, Wb 24 (spider); HP 210; THAC0 1; #AT 1 or 3/1 (drow) or 3 (spider/drow) or 3 (spider) Dmg 1d1O+9 (fist, +9 STR) or by drow weapon type (+3 drow weapon bonus, +9 STR) (drow); ld4+special (webs) and 4d4+poison (bite) (spider/drow); or 1d4+special (webs) and 4d4+poison (spider) MR 70%; SZ M (6 feet tall-drow) or L (12 feet diameter-spider) STR 21,DEX 21,CoN 21,INT 21,WiS l7,CHA 23 (3 in spiderform) Spells P: 12/12/11/10/9/9/9, W: 7/7/7/7/7/7/7/7/7 Saves PPDM 2, RSW 3, PP 4, BW 4, Sp 4
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
against my pc in TOB(the last BG series game) my pc: lvl 25 kensai/lvl 40mage str17(25) dex20 con19 int20 wis19 cha12
all in all above 200 hp's grandmastery in hammers and katanas dual wield max 9/2 attacks per round combined with improved haste 9 attacks a round with a THACO of -22 mainhand - 20 off hand, a str bonus of +14/+7 THACO + additional damage from kensai kit every hits makes near 30-40 damage. In combination with protection from magic weapons + prot from normal weapons(deity power obteined at end of BG2) + spell trap + chain contingency(loaded with 3 abiz's) i was near invincible. Which leads me to my last question 10) are safing throws below zero possible?(if i remember correctly i had at last so 3/4/4/5/6 -12 all) + 40% magic resistance.
thanks for your answers greetings Miraculix |
