I'm planning on starting a new play by post game sometime next week. It will be based on the Realms module "Ruins of Adventure", the pen-and-paper companion to the early PC game Pool of Radiance.
This game is for those who are not currently playing in my other adventure "The Search for Randal Morn". Sorry.
The starting level is 1. I would like to run this as a 2nd edition game. All rule books from that edition are welcome. Looking for at least one human player. Please post here a character proposal ( name, class, background.) Do not start working on a character sheet yet.

I hope Candlekeep continues to be the friendly forum of fellow Realms-lovers that it has always been, as we all go through this together. If you don’t want to move to the “new” Realms, that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with either you or the “old” Realms. Goodness knows Candlekeep, and the hearts of its scribes, are both big enough to accommodate both. If we want them to be.
(Strikes dramatic pose, raises sword to gleam in the sunset, and hopes breeches won’t fall down.)
Enough for now. The Realms lives! I have spoken! Ale and light wines half price, served by a smiling Storm Silverhand fetchingly clad in thigh-high boots and naught else! Ahem . .

Hi Barshevy. We've already talked a bit about this and you know I'm looking forward to joining the new campaign. I have a good collection of 2E books myself and am quite familiar with the ruleset.
Let me know when/if I should get started working on a character.
Also, to Penknight: I would be interested in seeing what you have worked up for a blank CS. Can I PM you my email address? |

I'm a bit out of practice, so I'd like to keep things simple for myself. I'm thinking I'll play a ranger, human male. Where he hails from will depend a bit on the FR timeline we'll be playing in.
I'm not familiar with the Ruins of Adventure module, but I believe it is based on Pool of Radiance, which I have read. That would place us around 1340DR if my source http://www.o-love.net/realms/fr_time_notable.html is correct. Can you verify that for me Barshevy? |

| I'm sure it won't have a major effect. Just wanted to know what major events were available for me to incorporate into a backstory if I wish. I'll come up with a more detailed character proposal in the next day or so. |

Hoondatha, I'm pretty sure Barshevy's reply was in response to my post about class balance rather than your offer to hop in the game. However, I think he's hoping for a completely different set of players than those currently in his Sword of the Dales game.
On a different note, I'll be away for the rest of the weekend. You likely won't hear from me until Monday night. Hopefully we can get started sometime next week! |

| My evil scheme is to get as many people hooked on playing in the Realms through PBP. There are pluses and minuses to PBP. The interesting thing is that for some folks, it's easier to get into character on a PBP than a tabletop game. |

| Ah, yes. Please hold off on working on your character sheets until we get a fourth player. I've advertised on a few other play-by-post boards as well. If we don't get one more player, I might take a poll to see if folks would participate in a more popular adventure module. |
